Dortmund's Marco Reus wins vote to feature on FIFA 17 cover

Marco Reus has been voted as the cover athlete for FIFA 17.

Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus will feature on the cover of EA Sports' FIFA 17 video game after winning a fan vote.

The 27-year-old beat out Real Madrid's James Rodriguez, Manchester United's Anthony Martial and Chelsea's Eden Hazard as receiving the most of over 3.1 million votes cast on EA's website.

Reus, who has made 29 appearances for Germany, will wear the captain's armband for Dortmund this season.

"I'm honoured to join a very distinguished group of footballers to appear on the cover of FIFA," Reus said in a statement.

"Most of all I am humbled that the fans have chosen me, and I will strive to make them proud with my performance on the pitch."

FIFA 17 is scheduled to be released in North America on Sept. 27 and worldwide on Sept. 29 on PC, Xbox and PlayStation.
