Marco Reus set for two weeks on sidelines with torn muscle fibres

Borussia Dortmund forward Marco Reus will miss Sunday's derby against Schalke after his club confirmed he tore muscle fibres in Thursday's 4-0 defeat of Qabala in the Europa League.

Reus will be sidelined for two weeks but should be able to return after the international break when Dortmund play at Hamburg on Nov. 20, the club said.

The time frame would also see Reus miss Germany's friendlies against France on Nov. 13 and Netherlands four days later.

After Thursday's game, manager Thomas Tuchel explained why the German international was substituted.

"He lost his balance in a challenge and felt a pull in the groin area. That happened shortly before he scored our first goal," Tuchel said.

"He wanted to continue playing until half-time. The injury is in a different location to the previous problems."

Reus scored Dortmund's opener in the 28th minute, followed by goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Sergei Zenjov and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
