Dortmund keeping perspective despite perfect 11-for-11 start - Tuchel

Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel insists his side are not getting carried away with the start they have made to the season after they beat Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 on Sunday.

Sunday's win was Dortmund's 11th out of 11 competitive games this season, with Tuchel yet to see his side leave the field without winning.

Their five straight league wins with 18 goals scored and three conceded is the best ever start any club has made to a Bundesliga season, yet Tuchel is keeping his feet firmly planted on the ground.

"Every step we take is an important one, but we know very well how we are to assess our current situation,'' Tuchel said on his club's website.

"Nevertheless, we must not waste any thoughts on where the limit could be. We're currently getting frequent confirmation that we have real fighters in this team. The art is trying to give the team the right stimuli. You've got to strike a balance.

"We can't allow ourselves to take things easy and be affected by what we hear from the outside.''

By that, Tuchel means he does not want the team to get carried away like the fans, who are already starting to sing about winning the title this season.

"Of course the fans are euphoric and that's a good thing,'' said Jonas Hofmann, whose opening goal paved the way to Sunday's victory.

"We hear all the songs about winning the league coming from the stands and the fans have every right to dream, but we just want things to carry on the way they are going.

"We're very happy to have such great fans who have been through everything with us, and we like to be able to reward them with wins.''

Dortmund travel to winless Hoffenheim on Wednesday, 24 hours after Bayern Munich -- who have also won their opening five games -- host Wolfsburg.
