Brazil accuses Uruguay player of racism in South America U20
MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay -- Brazil is accusing a Uruguayan player of racially abusing one of its players at the South America Under-20 Championship.
Brazil coach Alexandre Gallo made the accusation after their 0-0 draw late Monday in the Uruguayan capital of Montevideo. Gallo said Uruguay's Facundo Castro repeatedly called Brazil's Marcos Guilherme a "monkey."
Gallo said his players "were shocked," and the Brazilian Football Confederation was considering legal action to send a message against racism.
