10 moments from Mexico's World Cup

El Tri are known for having fans that travel the globe to see their team play. Check out Mexico's fans in Brazil.

Mexico exceeded expectations in Brazil, getting out of a competitive Group A which also featured host nation Brazil, an exciting, attacking Croatia team and an experienced Cameroon side.

The team's campaign might have ended in the round of 16 but football fans from around the world will have a hard time forgetting animated manager Miguel Herrera and the team's successes in the 2014 tournament.

Here's a look back to El Tri's 10 biggest moments in the World Cup:

Giovani Dos Santos is wrongly called offside for two goals in Mexico's 1-0 win over Cameroon.

Oribe Peralta scored the winner for Mexico vs. Cameroon. Up until that stage, El Tri looked like it was going to have to settle for a 0-0 draw with the Indomitable Lions.

Brick wall Guillermo Ochoa's clutch six saves blanked Brazil in a 0-0 draw and boosted Mexico's chances to get out of Group A.

Rafa Marquez, the first player to ever captain his side to four World Cups (2002, 2006, 2010, 2014), scored a goal against Croatia to give El Tri a foundation to their 3-1 win.

Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez ended his year-long drought for Mexico by scoring the team's third goal against Croatia.

Miguel Herrera's unique coaching style -- never afraid to show his emotion -- became a worldwide sensation after Mexico advanced out of Group A.

In the round of 16, Mexico and Netherlands fought a toughly contested battle. One of the unfortunate victims of the clash was Hector Moreno, who broke his leg while challenging Dutch forward Arjen Robben.

Despite Hector Moreno's injury, things initially looked good for Mexico as Giovani Dos Santos scored the game's opening goal to give El Tri a 1-0 lead.

However, momentum quickly shifted as Wesley Sneijder scored the equalizer for the Netherlands in the 88th minute and that play was followed by the controversial decision that saw Arjen Robben awarded a spot kick.

When Klaas-Jan Huntelaar converted the penalty, Mexico was left thinking 'what if' after allowing the Dutch to score two late goals in less than five minutes in the dying moments of the game.
