Transfer Talk: How Europe's Deadline Day played out

The guys respond to your tweets about the dentist, exciting games they've played in, awards they've been snubbed for and the Europa League draw.

The transfer window closed in the Premier League more than three weeks ago, but in Spain, Germany and France, Friday was deadline day. Transfer Talk looks back on Europe's Deadline Day, with an eye on all of the done deals that got over the line before the window slammed shut until 2019.

23.25 BST: -- DONE DEAL -- After bringing in 12 players this summer, Fulham was always going to move a few. On Friday they got one out the door at the last minute, agreeing to loan striker Rui Fonte to Lille on a season-long loan.

23.10 BST: -- DONE DEAL -- Another one we hinted at earlier. PSG have signed Eric Choupo-Moting from Stoke.

The 29-year-old attacker had played all of his career in Germany before last season's move to Stoke -- where he scored five goals in 30 league appearances.

Is Stoke to PSG the new transfer pipeline? Doubtful.

22.35 BST: -- DONE DEAL -- We said this one was just about done earlier but Real Betis have officially unveiled loan signing Giovani Lo Celso.

The gifted Argentine had a breakout season last year at PSG but had so far been the odd man out in Paris under new manager Thomas Tuchel.

Full story.

22.22 BST: -- DONE DEAL -- Chelsea have loaned out a Hazard but it is not Eden! Eden's younger brother Kylian Hazard will be joining Club Brugge on a season-long loan.

The 23-year-old signed with Chelsea ahead of last season but has yet to appear for the first team.

22.06 BST: -- DONE DEAL -- Inter Milan youngster Yann Karamoh's season-long loan move to Bordeaux has been finalised.

The 20-year-old made 17 appearances last season for Inter and returns to France after coming through with Caen.

21.43 BST: -- DONE DEAL -- And there it is... Celtic have announced they have accepted a bid from Lyon for disgruntled striker Moussa Dembele

The Scottish club clearly did not want to sell the player but Dembele's actions forced their hand and in the end Dembele gets what he wants in a return to his native France.

Dembele will sign a five-year contract with Lyon and will replace Mariano Diaz who left for Madrid earlier in the week. The Mirror claim that the transfer is in the region of around £18 million.

20.19 BST: -- DONE DEAL -- Leicester have loaned young Polish winger Bartosz Kapustka out to Belgian second division side OH Leuven. Leuven is owned by King Power International Group, the same group that owns Leicester and is managed by Nigel Pearson, the former manager of the Foxes.

The 21-year-old played last season on loan in Germany with Freiburg and is still finding his way after signing from Cracovia back in 2016.

Kapustka is considered one of Poland's brightest young talents and has impressed with the national team, scoring three times in 14 senior caps.

20.02 BST: -- DONE DEAL(s) -- Let's tidy up some business in the Championship.

- Nottingham Forest have signed Swiss defender Saidy Janko from Porto on a season-long loan.

- Ipswich Town have brought in highly-rated young Everton defender Matthew Pennington on loan.

- Bolton have signed 26-year-old Christian Doidge from Forest Green Rovers, a record sale for newly-promoted League Two side FGR.

19.46 BST: -- DONE DEAL -- Rio Ave have brought back fan favourite and now ex-Real Madrid defender Fabio Coentrao.

The 30-year-old defender has not factored in at the Bernabeu in recent years and last season played at Sporting Lisbon on loan.

Coentrao came up through the Rio Ave system making his professional debut with the club in 2005.

19.23 BST: -- DONE DEAL -- Here's an interesting one. Cameron Jerome has moved to Turkey from Championship side Derby County.

The 32-year-old hitman is joining Goztepe of the Turkish Super Lig after a disappointing 2017-18 in which he scored just twice in 19 league games.

19.02 BST: -- DONE DEAL -- PSG did not get Jerome Boateng but they did ultimately get a defender from Bayern Munich. Left-back Juan Bernat is the newest Parisen, after agreeing to a three-year deal with the reigning French treble winners.

The 25-year-old Spaniard has been at Bayern since 2014, winning eight trophies with the German giants during that stretch.

PSG may not be done yet either as they are expected to make a shock move for Stoke's Maxim Choupo-Moting

Full story.

18.27 BST: -- DONE DEAL --  Girona have added another Man City youngster on loan in Douglas Luiz.

The 20-year-old central midfielder signed for City in July 2017 and also spent last season on loan with Girona.

The ex-Vasco da Gama product joins Patrick Roberts (21) and Aleix Garcia (21) as Man City kids on loan with the closely connected Spanish club.

17.24 BST: -- DONE DEAL -- Aston Villa are going all in in their quest for Championship promotion. The Villains have secured Chelsea and England youngster Tammy Abraham on a season-long loan.

The 20-year-old Abraham is the seventh new face to arrive at Villa Park this summer and provides manager Steve Bruce with another proven goalscorer. Abraham scored 5 goals last season in the Premier League for Swansea but bagged 23 for Bristol City the year before at this level.

With five of the club's most important players currently only on loan and bigger club's certain to circle back for Jack Grealish, it seems like it is now or never for Bruce and Co.

Villa currently sit fourth in the table with nine points from five games.

17.00 BST: -- DONE DEAL -- Sheffield Wednesday have announced they have signed Michael Hector on loan from Chelsea.

The 26-year-old Jamaican international has yet to appear in an official game for the Blues and will be making the 15th loan stop of his career.

Hector played last season on loan with Hull City and previously was on the books at Reading between 2009-15.

15.35 BST: Rangers have confirmed the signing of Eros Grezda from NK Osijek.

21.12 BST: This one isn't a transfer per say but Leicester City have done some business on deadline day. The Foxes have inked star goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel to a new five-year contract that will keep the Danish shot-stopper at the King Power through 2023.

The soon-to-be 32-year-old is nearing 300 appearances for Leicester and was a hot name this summer among clubs like Chelsea and Liverpool.

20.38 BST: It sounds as if Celtic's Moussa Dembele is doing everything he can to force through a move to Lyon before the transfer deadline closes.

The French Under-21 international reportedly stormed out of training after a heated discussion with manager Brendan Rodgers and has his heart firmly set on leavin Parkhead.

The 22-year-old has a terrific record of 45 goals in 91 games for the Hoops but is keen on a move home to France. This is one to watch with time running out in the transfer window.

17.58 BST: Liverpool are reportedly close to finally moving on from Anfield flop Lazar Markovic.

Sources close to the club have confirmed to ESPN FC that Liverpool and Anderlecht have agreed to a £2.9 million deal for the 24-year-old Serb.

Markovic signed from Benfica in 2014 for £20m but after appearing 34 times in all competitions for the Reds during his debut campaign, has not played for Liverpool since.

The Brazilian joined City for £10m last summer but was turned down for a work permit with Guardiola wanting to keep him in his squad.

"Luiz is going to Girona to try to play and show his quality," Guardiola told a news conference ahead of the Premier League clash with Newcastle United. "Finally the big bosses can allow the work permit, confirming the opinions we have right now."

"Borja is still our player but he has alternatives to leave and it is likely that he looks for a loan move and that can be completed today. If at the end he leaves, he could have those minutes [ playing time]," he said. "If Mariano is here is because we are delighted that he is here, we believe he will help us".

11.12 BST: It's decision day for Tammy Abraham, according to ESPN FC's Chelsea correspondent Liam Twomey. Aston Villa are keen to take the Chelsea striker on loan until at least January but as Maurizio Sarri said last week, he is more than happy to keep Abraham at Cobham and work with him in training for the next few months, even if first-team minutes are likely to be very limited behind Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud.

< p>Another reported suitor for Abraham is Bordeaux, who can offer a bigger domestic stage and Europa League football -- the competition that also offers him the best chance of first-team football if he stays at Chelsea.

10.50 BST: Bayern Munich boss Niko Kovac confirms Jerome Boateng will stay at the club.

08.00 BST: PSG could turn to Celta Vigo for midfielder Stanislav Lobotka, as the look conducted some last-minute transfer business, with Sport citing French media outlets for the reporting the interest.

City fear United will hijack Neves move

After missing out on primary midfield target Jorginho in the summer, Manchester City have reportedly turned their attention to Wolverhampton Wanderers' Ruben Neves.

But Goal reports that the City hierarchy are now growing concerned that Manchester United could swoop for the 21-year-old Portugal international.

United boss Jose Mourinho has grown annoyed by his agent Jorge Mendes' willingness to broker previous deals with City, according to the report, and will now look to beat his crosstown rivals to a £60 million deal in January.

Benkovic leaving Leicester already?

Despite only signing for Leicester City a few weeks ago, it looks as though Filip Benkovic could already be on his way out at the King Power Stadium, the BBC writes.

Celtic are within spitting distance of tying up a loan for the young Croatian centre-back, who joined the Foxes from Dinamo Zagreb in a £13m deal earlier this month.

The 21-year-old is expected to make the switch before the close of the transfer window Friday to help bolster Brendan Rodgers' options in the middle of his back line.

Taps-ins

- Real Betis are chasing Barcelona's Rafinha, although Marca cites RAC1 as reporting that the Catalan club have just offered the 25-year-old a contract extension to keep him at the Camp Nou, but should they miss on their primary target, the same report states they'll turn their attentions to Paris Saint-Germain's Giovani Lo Celso.

- Middlesbrough are hoping to push through a £7m deal for Millwall midfielder George Saville, but any transfer will hinge on the London club's attempts to source an adequate replacement, according to the Mirror.
