Transfer Rater: Marco Asensio to Liverpool, Aaron Mooy to Manchester City

The latest transfer rumours from around the world.

Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the Whisper.

Here are today's top five emerging whispers. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for all the latest gossip.

Leonardo Bonucci to Manchester United

UEFA are on the cusp of making an example of AC Milan by excluding them from the 2018-19 Europa League after the club failed to adhere to FFP rules. Yahoo Sport report that Manchester United are waiting to take advantage of the Italian club's financial woes by monitoring the situation around Bonucci. The 31-year-old central defender joined the San Siro side last summer for €42 million but could be sold if the club desperately need to realign their books to fall back within UEFA's guidelines.

Daniele Rugani to Chelsea

Chelsea are reportedly hoping to kick off Maurizio Sarri's tenure at the club (though he hasn't signed yet) with the signing of Juventus defender Rugani for £35m, according to the Evening Standard. Rugani, who played under Sarri at Empoli, is apparently enticed by Chelsea's willingness to double his wages as part of a five-year contract and the promise to offer him far more game time than the paltry 22 appearances he made in Turin last season. The 23-year-old defender is reported to have agreed a deal with Chelsea last month and all that remains to be sorted is an agreed fee with Juventus.

Marco Asensio to Liverpool

Florentino Perez's never-ending pursuit of Neymar could now open the door for the potential sale of Asensio to Liverpool. According to Sport, the Real Madrid president wants a cash reserve of up to €300m to entice Paris Saint-Germain into selling their main asset and could make up a large chunk of that warchest by allowing their own talent to move to the Premier League side for a reported €200m.

Vicente Iborra to Sevilla

Leicester City only signed Iborra 11 months ago, however, reports in Spain claim that the defensive midfielder could be on his way back to Sevilla this summer. Last summer the 30-year old stated that he would like to return to the club at which he won three Europa League titles in four seasons, but few expected Sevilla to return with an offer to re-sign their former captain so quickly.

Aaron Mooy to Manchester City

Pep Guardiola may look to plug defensive holes in his midfield with a former City player. The English champions recently sold Mooy to Huddersfield Town after an impressive loan stint, but were intent on including a £20m buy-back clause in the deal. Following another impressive season under David Wagner and notable performances for the Australia national team at the World Cup, City may now look to bring Mooy back to the club with the intent of finally promoting him to the first team.
