Transfer Talk: Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois to leave if Chelsea miss top-four
Clubs are slowly turning their eyes toward the summer window, and Transfer Talk has the updates on all the latest rumours.
Nine Chelsea stars' futures in doubt
It hasn't been the happiest season at Chelsea, and the Telegraph reports that there are "doubts over the futures of as many as nine first-team players."
With the position of coach Antonio Conte increasingly uncertain, the Telegraph says the Premier League champions face "one of the biggest summers of the Roman Abramovich era."
The most pressing doubts surround playmaker Eden Hazard and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who may not stay if the Blues do not qualify for the Champions League.
Although the club remain hopeful that both can be persuaded to sign new contracts, they have been heavily linked with Real Madrid in recent months.
Meanwhile, Cesc Fabregas, Pedro Rodriguez, Gary Cahill, David Luiz and Olivier Giroud are all heading toward the end of their deals, with Chelsea "so far unwilling to offer any more than 12-month extensions to players aged 30 or over."
There are also doubts over striker Michy Batshuayi, on loan at Borussia Dortmund, and defender Kurt Zouma, temporarily at Stoke.
The Telegraph says Chelsea will not make decisions about them until the summer, but adds that it is unlikely either would want to return to London to sit on the bench.
De Gea poised for new United deal
The long-running saga of whether Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea moves to Real Madrid could soon be over, according to the Sun.
It says Spain international De Gea "is poised to sign a five-year deal worth £350,000-a-week" and is expected to do so before the World Cup begins.
The report says that would make him the second-biggest earner in United history, behind only Alexis Sanchez, with the club "convinced he is ready to commit his future to them."
Spurs stars ready to sign improved terms
There's a blizzard of new contracts in the offing at Tottenham, says the Telegraph, which reports that manager Mauricio Pochettino will be joined by Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Jan Vertonghen, Hugo Lloris, Christian Eriksen and Son Heung Min in putting pen to paper on improved terms.
Offers "are in the pipeline for Kane, Alli, Vertonghen, Lloris, Eriksen and Son in a bid to prevent any of Europe's top clubs attempting to prise them away."
Meanwhile, the Mail reports that defender Toby Alderweireld could be heading for Paris Saint-Germain, with the Ligue 1 leaders "willing to match his £10m-per-season wage demands."
-- Everton are looking to freshen things up after a disappointing season, and Den Haag defender Wilfred Kanon is in their sights, according to the Sun.
It reports that Sam Allardyce wants to strengthen his central defensive options but Real Betis, Villarreal and Eibar are also interested in the Ivory Coast international.
-- And staying on Merseyside, Sky Sports says Liverpool are monitoring Valencia striker Ferran Torres.
Torres, 18, has extended his contract until 2020, but it contains a €25m buyout clause and he has also been linked with Barcelona.
