Richarlison attracting Chinese Super League interest; Ozil back to Schalke?

With the January window on the horizon, there's plenty brewing in the transfer market. All the latest deals and potential deals can be found here.

Richarlison's profile rising

What happens when you come out of nowhere to score five goals to help fire a team such as Watford to eighth place in the Premier League table? In the case of Watford striker Richarlison, people take notice.

The former Fluminense player has been a revelation in Marco Silva's side this campaign, and the Watford Observer reports that his exploits have not gone unnoticed in China either, with the outlet suggesting that several unnamed teams have inquired about the 20-year-old.

Before Watford's 2-0 win against West Ham on Sunday, in which the Brazil youth international scored his team's second goal, Silva said he wasn't surprised that some of Europe's top clubs were taking notice. "He's a player with a lot of quality, so it's normal if everybody starts to pay attention to him," the Watford boss said.

Ozil in line for Schalke return?

Mesut Ozil has been linked with any number of top teams in Europe, with his contract set to expire at the Emirates this summer and the player seemingly looking for the exits. But few, like Kicker, have suggested that the World Cup winner with Germany might return to where it all began.

The German site says that the former Real Madrid player might return to the club where he first got his start: Schalke 04, where Ozil spent two seasons before heading to Werder Bremen in 2008.

Things might have gotten more complicated since Arsenal's 2-0 North London Derby win over Tottenham on Saturday, in which Ozil was at his creative best and helped Arsene Wenger's team to an important win and a spot in ESPN FC's best XI for the weekend.

However, regarding the possible fairytale return for Ozil, Schalke's supervisory board head, Clemens Tonnies, was quick to manage expectations.

He said: "The player could say that he returns to his roots and that he plays football in this stadium and for those fans and the region once again. But it will certainly not happen next season."

Coleman wants Wales duo at Sunderland

New Sunderland boss Chris Coleman is ready to set things right at the Stadium of Light, and he has his eyes on two players he's very familiar with in order to do it.

According to the Sunderland Echo, the former Wales manager is keen to bring star-turn Ben Woodburn and goalkeeper Danny Ward into the team from Liverpool as the Black Cats look to avoid slipping further down the ladder to League One, with the club in last place in the Championship thus far.

Coleman will be familiar with both players, as they've come through the ranks with Wales and could help the new boss set things right for Sunderland and get them on track for Premier League promotion rather further demotion.

Tap-Ins

-- Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has said Bayern Munich are unlikely to make an attempt to sign Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann.

The German champions have tried to sign Griezmann twice in the past, and there was fresh speculation at the weekend linking the France international with a €100 million move.

Derby County are keen to extend the contract of Joe Ledley, who signed a short-term deal with the club in September. The Derby Telegraph reports that the former Crystal Palace and Celtic midfielder has settled in nicely with the club and manager Gary Rowett has been happy with the 30-year-old's impact since his arrival.

- Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes striker Daniel Sturridge needs to put aside any concerns he might have about his place in the side for the good of the club's season. Sturridge has repeatedly been linked with a move away from Anfield as he looks to revive his chances of making the squad for England in Russia next summer.
