Mesut Ozil and David Silva to trade Premier League for Serie A

Shaka Hislop delves into the latest rumours surrounding Ozil, Ancelotti, Werner and many more in Rumour Rater.

Deadline day has come and gone, and all the latest deals and potential deals can be found here, but there's plenty brewing in the market as clubs begin to look toward January.

Ozil on Inter radar

Inter Milan president Erick Thohir has confirmed that the Serie A club are plotting a swoop for Arsenal contract rebel Mesut Ozil, reports the Daily Mail.

Ozil is free to speak to foreign teams from Jan. 1, and Inter, backed by significant Chinese investment, are likely to be first on the phone.

Given the 28-year-old's contract situation, Arsenal may try to sell Ozil in the winter transfer window and recoup some of the £42.5 million fee they paid Real Madrid in 2013.

The Gunners have been linked with a part-exchange move for Inter midfielder Joao Mario, but it's believed their approach has been rebuffed.

Milan eye 'Silva' lining

David Silva is tempted by interest from AC Milan despite Manchester City being eager to extend his contract, claims The Sun.

The 31-year-old is still an integral part of Pep Guardiola's plans, having started every game in the Premier League this season and recording six assists.

Milan are putting together an exciting project at the San Siro, however, and will be able to make Silva a lucrative offer to join the likes of Leonardo Bonucci and, erm, Fabio Borini.

With his namesake Bernardo Silva waiting in the wings at City, the Spaniard may feel it's time to move on.

Steve Nicol says Arsenal would be opting for mediocrity if Arsene Wenger considers dropping Mesut Ozil.

Ancelotti a wanted man

Despite being sacked by Bayern Munich on Thursday, it might not be long before Carlo Ancelotti is back in the dugout.

The Italian won the Bundesliga comfortably in his first season at the Allianz Arena, but a slow start to the current campaign brought an end to his reign following a 3-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

Ancelotti's unexpected availability has alerted AC Milan, where the 58-year-old enjoyed a successful playing career and a glittering eight-year spell as manager that saw him lead the Rossoneri to two Champions League triumphs.

But away from the glamour of Milan, Ancelotti could be set to receive another offer. The Daily Mirror says the former Chelsea boss is a target for West Ham, who are still searching for a replacement for the beleaguered Slaven Bilic.

That might sound far-fetched, but Ancelotti was linked with the Hammers six years ago and refused to rule out the possibility of joining them in the future.

Tap-ins

- AC Milan and Real Madrid legend Clarence Seedorf has been lined up as the next manager of League One side Oldham Athletic. The Telegraph reports that Seedorf held talks over the position on Thursday, but his appointment could rely on Oldham securing new investment.

- West Brom youngster Tyler Roberts is attracting interest from a host of clubs after impressing on loan at Walsall. According to the Mirror, Swansea, Brighton and Sunderland are all tracking the 18-year-old's progress as he links up with the Wales Under-21 squad over the international break.

- Good luck to anyone planning to bid for Marco Asensio. The Real Madrid star is set to sign a new six-year deal with an enormous £442m buyout clause, reports The Sun. Madrid picked Asensio up for just €3.9m from Mallorca, who must kick themselves every single day.
