Angel Di Maria, Julian Draxler could be part of PSG's January fire sale

The FC crew preview Real Madrid's clash with Real Sociedad and discuss the booing Gareth Bale has endured from Madrid fans.

Deadline day has come and gone, and all the latest deals and potential deals can be found here, but there's plenty brewing in the market as clubs begin to look toward January.

PSG plan January sales to recoup summer spending

After spending around €400 million to bring in Neymar and Kylian Mbappe over the summer, Paris Saint-Germain are now looking to recoup some of that enormous outlay with a host of January sales.

Angel Di María is thought to lead the list of potential departures, after being linked with a move to Barcelona, and Mundo Deportivo says the Argentine could be joined by at least five teammates.

Julian Draxler, Lucas Moura and Javier Pastore all are apparently surplus to requirements, along with goalkeeper Kevin Trapp, who has lost his No. 1 spot to Alphonse Areola this season.

Arsenal are known to be long-term admirers of Draxler, while Moura was once a target for Manchester United. The Premier League leaders might take another look at the Brazilian, as Jose Mourinho searches for a winger to add to his squad.

Real Madrid midfielder Isco has denied he ever intended to play for La Liga rivals Barcelona.

Boos could drive Bale from Bernabeu

After being booed during Real Madrid's 3-0 win over Apoel Nicosia on Wednesday, Gareth Bale must have been looking forward to the relative comfort of an Adidas promotional event this week.

Sadly for the reported Manchester United target, he was jeered yet again, with fans yelling at him to speak Spanish when he took to the stage, reports The Sun.

It's another unsavoury episode in Bale's quickly unravelling Madrid career, with the 28-year-old losing his status as a certain starter under Zinedine Zidane amid concerns over his injury struggles and poor form.

The supporters at the Santiago Bernabeu have made their frustrations known to Bale, who was defended by teammate Casemiro following another difficult evening against Apoel.

Should the boos continue throughout the season, it's hard to see any other solution than Bale seeking a new challenge next summer, with United leading the race for his signature.

Butland aiming for the top

Jack Butland admits he is prepared to leave Stoke in his quest to play Champions League football and claim the England No. 1 jersey.

The 24-year-old spent almost all of last year on the sidelines with an ankle injury. But he has returned between the sticks this season and is now targeting a starting spot at the World Cup.

"I've always said and I've never hid the fact that I want to play at the top, be England's No. 1 and win trophies," said Butland, as quoted in the Daily Mirror.

"While I'm at Stoke, I'll always try to do that. But me and the fans, they know I have targets and ambitions, and they'd be happy for me if that [playing in the Champions League] happened. It's good that I've got that sort of relationship with them and the club."

Both Manchester United and Arsenal are apparently keen on Butland, with a potential move to Old Trafford hinging on whether Real Madrid's renewed interest in David De Gea turns out to be genuine.

Tap-ins

- Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri has declared that he won't leave the Ligue 1 club in January, even if Barcelona come calling again, reports Mundo Deportivo. The 26-year-old was thought to be close to a move to the Nou Camp during the summer, but Barcelona decided to put all their focus into signing Philippe Coutinho, instead. That didn't quite go to plan.

- Aymeric Laporte will reject Barcelona in favour of joining Real Madrid in a £57 million transfer, claims The Sun. The 23-year-old Athletic Bilbao centre-back has previously been linked with Manchester City.

- Real Madrid aren't finished there, with City youngster Brahim Diaz emerging as a target for the Spanish champions. Diaz impressed on the club's preseason tour of the United States, and the Daily Mail says there are fears at the Etihad that Madrid's interest could see the 18-year-old follow fellow hot prospect Jadon Sancho out the exit door.

- Arsenal wanted to sign Benedikt Howedes before the German international joined Juventus on loan from Schalke, according to the player's agent. The Mirror says Leicester and Roma also expressed an interest in the 29-year-old.
