Transfer Rater: Balde Keita to Tottenham, Willian to Barcelona

The latest transfer rumours from around the world.
The latest transfer rumours from around the world.

Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the whisper.

Here are today's top five emerging whispers for the summer. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for all the latest gossip.

Adama Traore to Lille

Middlesbrough have rejected a £9 million bid from Lille for winger Traore as the Championship club hold out for closer to £15m. According to reports in the Daily Mail, Middlesbrough boss Garry Monk is reluctant to let the former Barcelona man leave without bringing in a replacement first. However, if the Ligue 1 side were to increase their offer he could be tempted into sanctioning a deal.

Balde Keita to Tottenham

Tottenham are prepared to meet Lazio's €30m asking price for Keita Balde, according to Corriere dello Sport. The versatile forward just 12 months remaining on his deal and has been linked with moves to Inter Milan and Juventus this summer. The Serie A giants, however, have yet to act on their interest and Keita is still in the Italian capital. Tottenham are in the market for attacking reinforcements as Mauricio Pochettino looks to piece together a squad capable of competing in Europe as well as domestically.

Bjorn Engels to Stoke

Stoke are looking to bring in a new centre-back as Mark Hughes attempts to find the final piece of his new three-man defensive set-up. Club Brugge defender Engels, a long-term Everton and Arsenal target, has been identified as the man to play alongside Bruno Martins Indi and on-loan Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma, with Ryan Shawcross gradually phased out. According to reports in Belgium, the 22-year-old could be a Stoke player by the weekend.

Dennis Praet to Everton

Everton are ready to rival Newcastle United in their bid to sign Praet from Sampdoria. The Belgian disappointed in his debut season in Italy but the 23-year-old's stock is still high and he's valued at close to £18m, according to reports in the Times. Newcastle wanted to bring him to St James' Park to add some creativity in the final third while Everton want to add him to their ever growing collection of creative midfielders.

Willian to Barcelona

France Football claim Barcelona have turned their attention to Willian, with the Brazilian considered as the man to fill Neymar's boots. It comes after the Catalan club hit a brick wall when trying to negotiate with Liverpool over a deal to bring Philippe Coutinho to the Camp Nou. Willian was previously linked with a move to Manchester United but it's unlikely Chelsea will want to sell this late in the window.
