Transfer Rater: Paulo Dybala and Ousmane Dembele to Barcelona

The latest transfer rumours from around the world.
The latest transfer rumours from around the world.

Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the whisper.

Here are today's top five emerging whispers for the summer. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for all the latest gossip.

Jota - Brentford to West Ham United

Thought to be available for around £8 million as he enters the final year of his Brentford contract, Spanish attacking midfielder Jota is the subject of strong interest from West Ham, with The Sun that the player is ready to shun advances from Newcastle United and Derby County to seal a switch to the London Stadium. Jota notched 12 goals and registered five assists in 21 appearances last season.

Paulo Dybala - Juventus to Barcelona

With Neymar now at Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona are left with £198m burning a hole in their pocket. High on their list of desired replacements for the Brazilian, according to Corriere dello Sport, is Juventus' Dybala. The La Liga side are set to offer £108.5m for the 24-year-old.

Luuk de Jong - PSV to Crystal Palace

He failed to score in 12 games for Newcastle during the 2012-13 season, but PSV striker De Jong might be about to get a second crack at the Premier League. The 26-year-old Netherlands international has bagged 54 Eredivisie goals in the last three seasons and Crystal Palace boss Frank De Boer has identified the former Borussia Monchengladbach man as a priority target, reports the Daily Mail.

Ousmane Dembele - Borussia Dortmund to Barcelona

Another name being linked with a Camp Nou switch in the wake of Neymar's departure is Dortmund winger Dembele. The gifted 20-year-old Frenchman has been mooted as a Barcelona target for some time, but the Catalan club's need for a tricky and creative wide man has suddenly become more pressing. According to Sport, Ernesto Valverde's side have seen a £63m bid rejected for the youngster, as the Bundesliga giants hold out for £99.5m.

Gareth Barry - Everton to West Brom

Barry could become a victim of the Merseyside club's lavish summer spending. The former Aston Villa captain is far from guaranteed regular football this season and could be set for a return to the West Midlands, according to the Daily Mail, with West Brom willing to offer the 36-year-old a two-year deal. Tony Pulis' side lost the experienced Darren Fletcher to Stoke earlier this summer and Barry could plug that gap.
