Rooney return to Everton looking more likely; Chelsea chase Bakayoko
The football world's gossip mill is in full swing, and Transfer Talk is already monitoring the whispers ahead of all the summer moves. Check out the latest deals here.
Rooney ready to return to Everton
Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney is ready to move back home to Everton, claims the Independent, with the Toffees set to offer him £150,000 per week.
The 31-year-old has been suffering from a decline in form and game time, and manager Jose Mourinho isn't planning to install him as a regular starter in his side.
The report says a move back to Goodison Park is "likely to happen," though West Ham are thought to be prepared to offer increased wages to lure the England captain to the capital.
The Red Devils could also waive a transfer fee as a gesture of goodwill 13 years after he moved to Old Trafford.
Chelsea move for Bakayoko
Chelsea appear to be making early plans to upgrade their midfield with a move for Monaco's Tiemoue Bakayoko, reports French publication L'Equipe.
A bid of £33 million (€38m), plus £4.3m (€5m) in bonuses, has been submitted, according to the report, with AS and Sky Sports journalist Guillem Balague making a similar claim.

Personal terms are said to have been agreed for the box-to-box midfielder, who could spark a slight alteration in formation for Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, though Manchester United are also said to be keen.
The 22-year-old's powerful displays helped Monaco overcome Manchester City in the Champions League, while his stardom grew yet further as France national team manager Didier Deschamps called him up to replace the injured Paul Pogba for this week's internationals.
Man City competes with Madrid for highly rated left-back
Manchester City are ready to compete with Real Madrid for Espanyol's Aaron Martin, reports the Sun.
The 19-year-old can be acquired for his £26m buyout clause, with City manager Pep Guardiola desperate to freshen his full-back options.
Fabio Coentrao will likely be discarded by Los Blancos this summer, with Martin seen as ideal cover for Madrid left-back Marcelo.
A starting role could emerge at City, though, which may be more attractive to Martin, as neither Gael Clichy nor Aleksandar Kolarov, who has moved inside to play centre-back, look to be ideal for the role under Guardiola.
Deulofeu form alerts Barcelona
Gerard Deulofeu could make a shock return to Barcelona after his impressive form for AC Milan on loan from Everton, claims the Mirror.
The 23-year-old has looked reborn in red and black after struggling to impress under manager Ronald Koeman. Barcelona have admitted that they have the "possibility" of buying the winger back for £10.3m.
"I am very happy with what's happening," technical secretary Robert Fernandez said. "Deulofeu was at Everton and not playing. He went on loan to Milan, where he's playing and has been called up to the Spain team. It's good news. I think it's €12m to bring him back."
-- West Ham are ready to return to Sunderland and re-sign striker Jermain Defoe, with the Sun reporting that the Hammers could get their man for free.
The 34-year-old has been recalled by England after four years out in the cold following 14 Premier League goals this season, but should the Black Cats be relegated, then rumours suggest the former Tottenham star can move for nothing.
-- Atlanta United wasted no time making instant sensation Josef Martinez a permanent addition to the club. The 23-year-old had just joined on loan from Torino in February, but following five goals in his last two games, the MLS expansion outfit was quick to sign him to a multiyear contract.
-- And finally, PSG have become the latest club to be strongly linked with a move for Monaco sensation Kylian Mbappe, with French publication Le Parisien claiming that they are readying an €80m (£69.3m) bid for the 18-year-old.
After a goal in each leg of the Champions League round-of-16 tie with Manchester City, and 19 goals in total this season, a host of clubs -- including Real Madrid and City -- are considering moves this summer.
