Transfer Rater: Ivan Perisic to Man United, Adrien Rabiot to Arsenal
Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the whisper.
Here are today's top five emerging whispers for the summer. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for the latest gossip.
Ivan Perisic to Manchester United
Croatian winger Ivan Perisic is set for a summer move to one of Europe's top clubs and would fit in perfectly at Manchester United, according to compatriot and former AC Milan defender Dario Simic. The 28-year old forward, who has also been linked with Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool in recent months, has scored seven and provided six for Inter Milan so far this season.
Adrien Rabiot to Arsenal
Paris Saint-Germain's young central midfielder Adrien Rabiot has intensified the rumours linking him with a switch to Arsenal by admitting that he is in no rush to sign a new contract. The 21-year old's current deal expires in 2019, but although the French champions are keen to negotiate an extension, Rabiot does "not want to think about that" right now.
"I am under contract until 2019, it is not urgent," the Frenchman told Le Figero. "I would prefer to stay concentrated on football. We will have to talk about this again at the end of the season. The club is aware."
Anthony Martial to Tottenham Hotspur
Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly interested in a move to bring Anthony Martial to White Hart Lane, and help to resurrect a career that has stuttered under Jose Mourinho this season. Despite making an immediate impact at Old Trafford following his £57 million switch (with add-ons) from Monaco, Martial has started just 10 Premier League games this term, while some average performances have seen him draw criticism from his manager. Spurs were interested in the Frenchman before United made him the most expensive teenager in history, but he is likely to fall even further down the pecking order at the club if their much talked about signing of Antoine Griezmann comes to fruition in the summer.
Youri Tielemans to Everton
One of Belgian football's most exciting young talents, is reportedly open to a move to Everton. The 19-year old made it clear he was considering his future in an interview with RTBF radio show La Tribune, which will have put the Merseyside club -- as well as many others around Europe -- on red alert. Toffees boss Ronald Koeman is a long-time admirer of the midfielder having scouted him during his time at Southampton, and the Dutch manager's willingness to give youth a chance could give the Premier League side an advantage should a number of clubs be competing for his signature in the summer.
Alvaro Morata to Chelsea
Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata has dropped yet another hint that he is ready to quit the Bernabeu, alerting suitors Chelsea and Arsenal. The 24-year old has made just 14 La Liga appearances this season, eight have which have been from the bench, and the player has admitted that he is "considering his options."
"I'm happy and I want to triumph at Real Madrid, but it's also true that I would like to be playing more," the Spain star told Italian paper Corriere dello Sport. "Now we have to try to win the league and the Champions League; after that, we'll see if the coach is counting on me or not."
Diego Costa was heavily linked with a move away from Chelsea in January, and it is thought the 28-year old could still move on in the summer, so Morata could be the perfect replacement.
