Arsenal in for Julian Draxler? Zlatan talks up Victor Lindelof for United
The transfer window might be shut, but don't think the wheeling and dealing won't continue! Check out all the latest deals here.
Arsenal back in for Julian Draxler
It seems like only a few months ago that Arsenal were struggling in the creative midfield area and were sniffing around Wolfsburg's starlet Julian Draxler. Now, they have the likes of Alex Iwobi coming through and don't seem to be in such a great need in that area, yet rumours of a move for the Germany international are still rife.
The Sun report that the 23-year-old is now ready to leave the Bundesliga and Wolfsburg are ready to do a deal. Arsene Wenger won't go big on this one like he did Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, but a cheeky bid of around £20 million might do the trick.
Victor Lindelof for United
Manchester United need defenders. Zlatan Ibrahimovic plays for Manchester United. Do you see where we are going here? No... the great Swede is not going to be lining up at the back, rather he's been telling the club who they should target.
Zlatan is a big fan of a certain Swedish central defender called Victor Lindelof, who plays for Benfica. "Is he good enough for United? I think he's good enough for the big clubs out there," he said.
Right then, with Zlatan as his agent this one should be easy.
Courtois, Costa edge closer to new deals
Antonio Conte's most important impact at Chelsea could be the affection generated for him by his players and the Telegraph reports that both Thibaut Courtois and Diego Costa could be about to pen new deals.
The pair were open to moves away last summer after a disastrous season under Jose Mourinho saw them become disillusioned with life at Stamford Bridge.
Costa could be in line to bump up his current pay packet from £150,000-per-week to £200,000-per-week, while Courtois, currently on approximately £100,000-per-week, may pick up somewhere close to £150,000-per-week.
Juventus target PSG star Thiago Silva
Juventus are targeting an audacious swoop for Thiago Silva, with Tuttosport suggesting that the Old Lady are growing in optimism of landing the Paris Saint-Germain and former Brazil captain.
The report incredibly suggests that despite the defender's contract set to expire and the Ligue 1 club possessing a clause to extend the deal by a year, Juventus could land the 32-year-old relatively easily.
Contracts have "practically been signed," too, and the Old Lady can surpass the clause that triggers an additional year -- should PSG qualify for the Champions League -- in a similar manner to Inter's deal for Ever Banega, who bought out the Argentinian's clause to prolong his contract.
Dembele commits future to Celtic
Celtic hitman Moussa Dembele has insisted he will stay at Celtic "100 percent," with the Mail reporting the former Fulham sensation will bat away interest from some of Europe's giants.
"I think I will stay here 100 percent," claimed the France under-21 international, amidst rumours that a move to Manchester United could materialise, and the 20-year-old confirms he is unaffected by speculation.
"It is not something I think about," Dembele added. "I don't listen to those stories."
Bruce to return to Hull for striker swap deal
Steve Bruce will return to former club Hull in order to prize away Uruguayan striker Abel Hernandez, with the Birmingham Mail reporting that the Tigers could land Rudy Gestede in return.
The Benin international has played just three times this term for Villa, while Hernandez has frustrated manager Mike Phelan with just one goal in 11 appearances all season.
Bruce extracted the best from the former Palermo hit man with 20 goals in the Championship last season -- which was enough to secure the Tigers a route back to the Premier League through the playoffs.
- Chelsea are continuing to fight for Exeter City's £2 million-rated 16-year-old super-talent Ethan Ampadu, according to the Telegraph, though Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City are also in the running.
To clinch a deal, the Blues may be willing to include a loan-back option to appease the League Two club and disappoint the Gunners, who currently employ the player's father as a coach.
- The Blues could lose England under-21 prospect Dominic Solanke on a free transfer with the Sun reporting that contract talks have stalled.
The 19-year-old enjoyed a productive spell on loan with Vitesse last term -- scoring seven goals -- but has so far been unused by the Blues this campaign, due to a stalemate in negotiations.
- AC Milan star Jose Sosa could be on the move with Gazzetta dello Sport reporting the Rossoneri could sell the Argentinian playmaker to Fenerbahce.
Having arrived at the San Siro for €8 million last summer, his time with Milan has been unproductive thus far, with just five Serie A appearances, and now a return to Turkey appears to be on the cards with both parties accepting the move has failed to work out.
