Nani joins Sporting, Rojo to Man Utd

Transfer Talk is back for another day of wheeling and dealing. Tune in throughout the day for up-to-the-minute transfer news...

TOP PICK - A day after announcing he was sorry for his recent tantrum and that he was set to return to training with Sporting Lisbon, Marcos Rojo has told Radio Continental his move to Manchester United is a dream come true. He is expected in England. Confused? Read the full story here. Meanwhile, Nani has left to rejoin Sporting. Read here.

- ESPN sources have been told Sami Khedira is keen on a move to Bayern Munich. Read the full story here.

- Valencia want to sign Fernando Llorente from Juventus and are set to offer ten million euros, taking advantage of the fact Gazzetta dello Sport say Juve are looking to bring in Radamel Falcao on loan.

- Bayern Munich have officials in Rome and Madrid discussing possible deals for Medhi Benatia and Diego Godin as they look to plug the gap left by Javi Martinez' lengthy injury.

22.37 BST: Take this one with a pinch of salt perhaps, as Chelsea really don't need anymore midfielders, but there are reports that they are set to beat Arsenal to the signing of Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho after launching a 35 million pound bid. We'll see...

21.58 BST: Jonathan De Guzman has landed in Italy to undergo a medical at Napoli and become the latest signing for Rafael Benitez.

20.52 BST: Juan Agudelo may have failed to get a move to Stoke City, but the US striker seems set to join 1860 Munich. Munich-based tabloid TZ quoted 1860 sporting director Gerhard Poschner saying it was "quite possible" that the second-division club would sign two strikers and TZ think one of them will be Agudelo.

20.00 BST: Goalkeeper Julio Cesar has left QPR, "with the player set to sign for Portuguese side Benfica" according to the club. Read here for that. Or alternatively you could see that he's actually already signed for them. Here.

19.32 BST: Alan Pardew has plans in place at Newcastle: "I think for us we will watch the market but we definitely have a bigger squad with much more options." Or maybe he's happy with his options, who knows!

18.52 BST: Nani joins Sporting Lisbon on a one-year loan. while Marcos Rojo is set to arrive at Manchester United.

18.41 BST: Leicester striker Jamie Vardy has signed a new four-year contract tying him to the Premier League newcomers until June, 2018.

18.16 BST: Derek Boateng has joined Eibar in Spain after being released by Fulham.

17.35 BST: Twitter has exploded claiming Julio Cesar has signed a two-year deal at Benfica on a free transfer from QPR. No confirmation from either club both on Twitter or their respective websites... we'll keep you posted.

17.31 BST: Can't imagine anyone at Borussia Dortmund will be happy about this report but the Daily Star claim Marco Reus has turned down a move to Manchester United. Apparently he would rather a switch to Arsenal or Liverpool should he leave Germany.

17.25 BST: Barely ten minutes ago and he was supposed to be at Sporting's 5pm training! You can't say we don't keep you up to date!

17.23 BST: Roma have jumped to the front of the queue to sign Manchester City's Micah Richards according to The Express. Some have speculated the out-of-favour Englishman will replace Medhi Benatia who is said to be negotiating a deal with Bayern Munich but could yet remain at the Italian capital club. This would mean Newcastle, Arsenal and Tottenham would be back among the favourites to sign the former England right-back.

Could Micah Richards have played his last game for Man City? If reports are to be believed, that is extremely likely.

17.19 BST: Reports have suggested that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho will do everything he can to shift Fernando Torres out of the club. However the Spaniard is determined to stay unless someone can match his reported 200,000 pound per week wages... which is unlikely given his form over the past three years.

17.14 BST: Southampton have not given up on Andros Townsend according to the Essex Chronicle and will bid more than the 10 million pounds rejected by Spurs this week for their wing wizard.

17.10 BST: Deary me! so many rumours. This is beyond a joke!

17.03 BST: Have to agree with Sky Sports' Graeme Bailey, a shame for Leicester City.

16.57 BST: Angel Di Maria has been included in Real Madrid's Super Copa squad for tonight's match against Atletico Madrid. Sami Khedira has been left out. Make of that what you will.

Poor Sami Khedira - looks like he is being forced out of Real Madrid.

16.50 BST: Two clubs are said to be looking to hijack QPR's deal to sign Chilean international Eduardo Vargas. Olympiakos and Besiktas are the clubs, read more from Sport Witness here.

16.42 BST: Gokhan Inler has emerged as a surprise target for Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola to plug the gap left by Javi Martinez' injury. Sky Sport Italia claim though that Napoli are not interested in selling and won't entertain any bids especially during Champions League qualifying.

16.36 BST: Tuttomercatoweb exclusive! Corriere dello Sport journalist Furio Fedele has said AC Milan are still in the race to sign Alessio Cerci but know they need to raise funds to sign him. He also said Blerim Dzemaili and Goran Pandev both remain targets from Napoli. Departures-wise, Milan look set to sell one of Phillipe Mexes or Cristian Zapata but intend to keep hold of M'Baye Niang and give the youngster a second chance to impress... and breathe.

16.31 BST: Paul Lambert has launched a scathing attack on Southampton boss Ronald Koeman about his pursuit of Ron Vlaar. Read his full comments here.

16.24 BST: Pretty sure Cheick Tiote has only been linked because he has been linked with them for years but apparently Arsenal are still keeping tabs on the eight million pound rated Ivorian. However they also face competition from Lokomotiv Moscow for his signature according to the Independent.

16.18 BST: Would be a decent signing for any of those sides.

16.14 BST: So yesterday the Federico Fernandez deal to Swansea looked on the rocks as Napoli caused various problems. But Tuttomercatoweb have claimed the deal is likely to be announced in the next few hours with the Argentine waiting in Wales to sign a contract worth 1.2 million pounds per year.

16.04 BST: Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini looks like he will get his wish and see John Guidetti out of the club. The striker is wanted by Feyenoord according to the Manchester Evening News although the Dutch giants want to take him on loan for the year first before signing him for four million pounds next summer. Apparently so Feyenoord can 'assess his fitness'.

16.00 BST: Grégory Cerdan leaves Guingamp after two years at the club following a training ground bust-up with Mustapha Yatabare. Well that's not the official line, the official line is that the bust-up two weeks ago has nothing to do with the defender leaving on a free. He told L'Equipe it was to do with his general unhappiness at the club and something he had been discussing for a number of months. OK.

15.53 BST: Does anyone really know who to believe? AS with a tongue-in-cheek response to the true value.

15.47 BST: An asking price has been set for Atletico Madrid's Diego Godin. According to Tuttomercatoweb both Bayern Munich and Monaco have been quoted 30 million euros to steal the Uruguayan away from the Vicente Calderon. Somehow, can't see anyone stumping up that sort of cash.

15.41 BST: Widespread reports that Thibaut Courtois is set to pen a new five-year deal at Chelsea. Another step closer to the exit door for Petr Cech.

15.38 BST: Sport Witness reporter Tom Coast on Guillem Balague's Man Utd transfer claim. Have to say, it does seem rather outlandish.

15.34 BST: German outfit Werder Bremen have asked Fiorentina about taking promising young winger Rafal Wolski on loan for a season according to Kicker. The Polish international has struggled to break into the first-team at La Viola and will promise him more first-team football should he join. Empoli are also interested.

15.29 BST: PSV are offering wonderkid Memphis Depay a huge new contract in order to keep Manchester United and Tottenham's paws off him. The young Dutchman has reportedly rejected the idea of signing a new contract until after the transfer window to see if proper interest materialises. Sounds cynical but one would imagine any deal he does sign will be purely to hike up the fee next summer.

Will Memphis Depay be scoring goals for PSV next season or will the lure of the Premier League be too much?

15.19 BST: L'Equipe are reporting that PSG remain hopeful of signing Angel Di Maria despite interest from Manchester United and Bayern Munich. Include Financial Fair Play regulations and suddenly PSG don't look like favourites but the report suggests the French champions are keen to bring down the 65 million euro asking price and get rid of Ezequiel Lavezzi to free up funds and squad space.

15.15 BST: AS Monaco are set to sign three more players before the end of the transfer window. According to Nice Matin, the first of which will be a central defender, though unnamed. Another player will hopefully be Douglas Costa who Shakhtar don't want to sell but remain in talks with Monaco.

15.07 BST: French daily La Provence were reporting that Marseille and Evian had been hoping to thrash out a cash plus player deal involving Modou Sougou and Daniel Wass. But Marseille sources have told journalists that they have no interest in Evian winger Wass, whatsoever. So there you go!

15.02 BST: Looks like Atletico Madrid's hopes of signing Andre Schurrle have been dashed. Read the full story here.

14.55 BST: West Ham have lodged an enquiry with Fiorentina over defender Facundo Roncaglia. Sam Allardyce is keen to recruit defenders before the transfer window closes and sees the Argentine as an ideal signing, according to reports.

14.50 BST: Lazio have had a busy summer and the news that Claudio Lotito has confirmed the club are closing on a deal to sign Santiago Gentiletti from San Lorenzo, will cool interest in Aston Villa's Ron Vlaar. The Aquile have been in for defenders all summer and look to have grabbed Gentiletti for 2.5 million euros. Corriere dello Sport quote Lotito as saying: "Is it completely closed? Not yet, we will see in the coming days. Anyway, he is a player who Pioli has chosen, and if our Coach likes him then we're good."

14.44 BST: DONE DEALS! Ever Banega and Gerard Deulofeu officially unveiled by Sevilla.

14.41 BST: West Ham have reportedly made a seven million euro bid for Sampdoria midfielder Pedro Obiang. Sport Witness have all the details!

14.35 BST: DONE DEAL! Speaks for itself really...

14.30 BST: AC Milan are considering an offer for Shakhtar Donetsk attacker Douglas Costa according to Tuttosport. The 25 million euro asking price is likely to be a big stumbling block given Milan's lack of money at the moment.

Douglas Costa is keen to leave Shakhtar but his 25 million euro asking price may prove difficult for AC Milan to match.

14.22 BST: Sevilla and Hamburg have joined the race to sign Fredy Guarin from Inter Milan. It almost feels lazy of me to keep updating you on this Guarin stuff. It's been going on for two years.

In all seriousness, according to Football League World, former AC Milan midfielder Davide Di Gennaro has emerged as a target for the Elland Road club after Palermo offered him to them as they look to offload him.

14.00 BST: The same guys who said Marco Reus had agreed a deal with Atletico Madrid...

13.56 BST: You can see why Nigel Pearson wanted to keep this one under wraps...

13.52 BST: Aston Villa midfielder Karim El Ahmadi has told Dutch newspaper TC Tubantia that he has not ruled out a return to Holland in the near future. He said: "But there is a big chance I will return to the Netherlands. I will turn 30 and it would be a good moment to play a couple of years in the Netherlands. I have lived in England for a couple of years now, but the Netherlands is still my home. I miss my family over here."

13.05 BST: Leicester City could sign former defender Sol Bamba on a free transfer according to TalkSport. The Ivorian saw his contract at Trabzonspor terminated this summer and with the Foxes looking to reinforce their back four, the former Leicester man could be an ideal signing for Nigel Pearson.

12.53 BST: Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo is quoted in Mundo Deportivo as saying signing Marco Reus was 'impossible' and he had no idea where the rumours came from. And that was the end of that.

12.25 BST: Fredy Guarin. Zenit St Petersburg. 15 million euros. It's the same story as always just with a different club. Gazzetta dello Sport reporting it, as they have done all the other Guarin rumours for the past two years.

12.20 BST: Valencia were always going to be busy bees following the take-over of Peter Lim at the club. And O Jogo have them down as on the verge of signing Benfica right-back John Cancelo subject to a medical he is apparently taking today.

12.16 BST: Despite the loss of James Rodriguez and possibly Radamel Falcao this summer, Monaco are determined to show Europe they still mean business. And Gazzetta dello Sport have them down as making an ambitious move for Zenit St Petersburg forward Hulk in an attempt to appease fans. But Cerci came out and said to Sky Sport Italia last night: "I was playing on the playstation with my teammates at the time. Somebody must have gained access to my account, I don't know. We'll see.

09.09 BST: Initially Gazzetta dello Sport in Italy had linked Hoffenheim's Firminho with Inter Milan. The cash-strapped Italians are said to be weighing up a 25 million euro move to sign one of the best midfielders in the Bundesliga last season but Hoffenheim sporting director Alexander Rosen said: "We don't comment on any rumours or speculations." Bild remain confident however that the Brazilian will remain in Germany next season.

09.04 BST: Anyone who is anyone is weighing in on the Marco Reus situation at Dortmund. We've all heard the noise from Bayern Munich trying to do their best to unsettle the forward and now Dortmund's Hans-Joachim Watzke has weighed in and told Bild: ""It's a nice party game. Everyone has his say. It sucks. But by now everyone should have had his say."

Oh and former Bayern midfielder Didi Hamann also felt it necessary to 'have his say' and said via Merkur Online: "It's not right that a club discusses release clause from another club. That's a discussion Dortmund don't need. Bayern don't care, but it breeds bad blood. You should treat each other with more respect." That's nice.

09.00 BST: Spurs and Man Utd on red alert now, I'll bet!

If it's not possible, we'll just continue with the players we have. No problem." There are now strong links with Bayer Leverkusen's versatile midfielder Gonzalo Castro, but a highly entertaining Bayern transfer blog on Munchener Merkur quotes Leverkusen CEO Michael Schade as telling Rheinische Post that they have not received an offer for him. The blog also cites AS, which reports that Bayern technical director Michael Reschke is currently in Madrid to discuss Diego Godin with Atletico. Meanwhile, Sport1 reports that Bayern have entered talks with AS Roma, with a middle man of Medhi Benatia's agent seen in Munich yesterday. It also reports that Benatia will not feature in Roma's test against Fenerbahce today.

07.09 BST: According to Bild, Werder Bremen have offered four million euros for Fulham's Bryan Ruiz. The 28-year-old Costa Rica captain has turned down offers from Besiktas, who were prepared to splash out six million euros, as he wants to join the Bundesliga side. Bild quotes Magath as saying: "He could leave us in the next days."

Rojo a go-go? And does Angel have wings at last?

The back page of Tuesday's Express says that Manchester United may yet succeed in snaring Sporting defender Marcos Rojo, even if the rangy right-back has been a rather naughty boy.

It turned out that refusing to train after not being allowed a move was not the best way to force an exit, but an apology has smoothed things over and United hope that, this formality now having been completed, discussions can continue. They are willing to offer Nani or Anderson in part-exchange.

And what's this on the back of the Sun? It has seemed a matter of time until Angel Di Maria, weirdly unwanted by Real Madrid, went somewhere -- and now Carlo Ancelotti has apparently given the midfielder, who of course plays in front of Rojo on Argentina's left flank, his blessing to leave if he wishes to. Now it depends on whether the player has the stomach for what still looks a long, hard road ahead for the Old Trafford club.

Saints aren't for turning

The Sun has another snippet, on the case of yet another of this summer's developing -- and doubtless coming to a head over the next couple of weeks -- sagas. It says that Spurs have made another offer, 17 million pounds this time, for want-away Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin -- who came so close to a stunning late goal at Anfield on Sunday -- but that the Saints will hold firm on their man once more.

Wenger gets his Manolas?

Are Arsenal about to sign another defender? That would make it three in this transfer window and surely give their manager an attack of the vapours. But the Mirror points out that cover is desperately needed at centre-back after Thomas Vermaelen's move to Barcelona, and suggests that 23-year-old Olympiakos defender Kostas Manolas is Arsene Wenger's top pick.

He'd cost around six million pounds, which in today's market does not seem a bad deal at all -- and his impressive World Cup with Greece adds to the impression that, if there is a deal to be done, this one might be worth closing out before other vultures start circling, too.

Brucie's striking bonus?

Hull, meanwhile, need a striker and -- having been linked with Danny Welbeck last week -- are now in pursuit of Cameroonian striker Vincent Aboubakar. That's in the Mirror, too, and the theme isn't dissimilar to what we've seen above: at nine million pounds, the Lorient striker, who scored 16 Ligue 1 goals last season and is still just 22, may well represent better value than anything available domestically.

Aboubakar was part of his country's appalling World Cup squad, but he is a big talent and that certainly should not be held against him.

Cameron goes green

On to another forward now, although one who seems set to take a downward step. Cameron Jerome is going green, says the Telegraph, and the only question seems to be whether he opts for the green and white of Celtic or the green and yellow of Norwich.

SPL or Championship: it's up to the Stoke frontman now after his current club accepted offers of two million pounds for his services.

Yes you Cam

The Telegraph also speaks of an imminent arrival to the Premier League, though. It seems that way, anyway: Nigel Pearson had been annoyed at the leaking of his interest in highly-decorated Argentinian midfielder Esteban Cambiasso, but it seems as if all might be well that ends well.

He might even be on board in time to travel to Chelsea on Saturday -- as long as Sevilla don't sneak in and ruin things at the last minute.
