No rest for Belgians, more on Suarez

Rest days? Transfer Talk don't need no stinking rest days. The World Cup may be off until Friday, but the rumour- and gossip-filled world of the summer transfer window is still wide-open, friends.

23.05 BST: DONE DEAL - It might be close to the witching hour, but that hasn't stopped West Ham announcing the signing of Aaron Cresswell from Ipswich Town for an undisclosed fee.

22.46 BST: DONE DEAL - Hertha Berlin have signed Julian Schieber, with the striker having signed a four-year contract from Borussia Dortmund.

22.14 BST: Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has told Diego Costa that he hopes he proves to be a success at Chelsea will the striker's move soon to be completed after terms were agreed. "I am always going to be thankful to the players that give all their best. He had excellent performances while he was with us," he said.

21.56 BST: Klaas Jan Huntelaar, scorer of Netherlands' dramatic late winner against Mexico, has been linked with Liverpool in recent days but will not discuss his future until his World Cup adventure is over.  "Regarding the rumours about Liverpool it would only be fair to speak to Schalke first," he told De Telegraaf. "I've talked with Schalke about an extension for a while. After the World Cup I am having a holiday. Then I will speak to them again."

21.12 BST: Zdravko Kuzmanovic could be about to make the move from Italy to Spain, with Sevilla interested in the player surplus to requirements at Inter Milan.

20.47 BST: Alfred Finnbogason will be playing for Real Sociedad in La Liga next season after scoring goals for fun in the Eredivisie with Heerenveen. He told his new club's website: "[The club] showed great interest in me and that's really important for a player. What I perceive from La Real is that it's a big family, and I've seen it from the moment they spoke to me."

20.24 BST: Paddy Kenny's agent admitted the Leeds goalkeeper faces an uncertain future at Elland Road but dismissed reports he was being forced out of the club due to the date of his birthday as "nonsense.'' Leeds president Massimo Cellino has been reported to want to off-load Kenny because of his suspicion of the number 17. The former Sheffield United keeper was born on May 17.

20.00 BST: Luuk de Jong, the striker who never scores goals, is still being linked with a return to Newcastle United on loan but he is also prepared to fight for his place at Borussia Monchengladbach.

19.26 BST: Inter Milan are interested in Victor Ibarbo but are not willing to pay the 12-15 million euros wanted by Cagliari. He could yet end up at Valencia or Juventus.

18.41 BST: The Daily Express reports that Ashley Cole is ready to accept a contract offer from Serie A club AS Roma. What price would you get on Roma being drawn with Chelsea in next season's Champions League?

18.03 BST: FIFA's disciplinary chief Claudio Sulser has confirmed that Luis Suarez is free to join Barcelona while serving his ban for biting Giorgi Chiellini, but denied Liverpool had been punished unfairly.

17.27 BST: Inter Milan are set to make an offer for Sampdoria's German defender Shokdran Mustafi should their offer for Porto's Rolando not materialise, which it appears it won't. There are several German clubs who are also keen on the defender and may be willing to meet his £10 million asking price.

17.20 BST: Two players who have been perpetually linked with moves away from their clubs are Freddy Guarin and Mirko Vucinic. The latter is currently having a medical with United Arab Emirates club Al Jazira while the former is still sat at Inter Milan waiting to leave according to Sky Sports Italia. Any day now...

Freddy Guarin has been touted for a move away from Inter for over a year while Mirko Vucinic has finally almost secured his one from Juventus.

17.15 BST: Derby midfielder Craig Bryson who had been attracting the interest of Premier League new-boys Burnley and QPR, has signed a new five-year deal which will keep him at Pride Park into his thirties.

17.11 BST: We said earlier QPR had agreed a deal with Rio Ferdinand but that bosses blocked the transfer because he is too old. But Harry Redknapp has rubbished those claims and has said the deal will go through soon. Get West London also understands that QPR have had a bid for Steven Caulker accepted in the £8 million region in order to partner the veteran England defender.'s Greg Stobart has his say on the potential move...

17.06 BST: Bad news for one Barcelona keeper is good news for another as young stopper Jordi Masip has put pen to paper on a deal with the Barca first team until 2017. It is thought he will be third in line behind Andre ter Stegen and Claudio Bravo but the youngster is chomping at the bit to get started.

17.03 BST: It seems Napoli can't get enough of Spurs midfielders. This time linked with Moussa Dembele. Crazy stuff.

17.00 BST: The only player ever to score a hattrick at each level of the English Football League could be about to sign for Newport. Robert Earnshaw is said to be considering an offer from the ambitious non-league side who are managed by former Spurs defender Justin Edinburgh.

16.53 BST: Remember Andre Villas Boas? He used to manage Chelsea and then Spurs before being laughed out of the Premier League due to his hilariously businessy interviews? Ye, well, he is looking to pillage his old club Tottenham for fan favourite Sandro according to the Daily Mail. The Brazilian midfielder was subject to interest from Napoli but they were put off by the £20 million being demanded by Spurs supremo Daniel Levy. It is thought Zenit St Petersburg have the financial clout to test Spurs' resolve though.

16.45 BST: Newcastle are hoping to pip Premier League rivals Everton to the signing of Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca. The Colombian was voted La Liga signing of the season and the Daily Mail say the Magpies are hoping to conclude a deal for him as soon as possible. They also still want to sign Lyon's Alexandre Lacazette and believe a move for Montpellier's Remy Cabella is not completely dead yet.

16.40 BST: Monaco have denied rumours Falcao and James Rodriguez are going to leave the club. Read the full story here.

16.36 BST: Expect rumours aplenty now this little nugget of information has been released by our man in France Jonathan Johnson.

16.31 BST: As reported earlier it seems Romelu Lukaku will get his move to Atletico Madrid and he has long been a priority of theirs.

16.27 BST: The Barcelona propaganda machine just keeps on rolling...

16.24 BST: It looks like Kaka had offers from Mexico before he opted to sign for Orlando City yesterday. He terminated his contract early with AC Milan in order to make the move but admitted upon his unveiling: 'Club America and Monterrey asked me if I wanted to come to Mexico to play, but I said no because I wanted to play in the MLS. It was difficult to leave Milan, but I think that made the right decision at the right time. Kaka will spend three months on loan at Sao Paulo before joining the Florida outfit full time.'

16.20 BST: Contrary to reports in Marca, who remember are Real Madrid's media mouthpiece, Toni Kroos has not agreed a deal to join them just yet. Read the full story here.

16.15 BST: Despite rumours surfacing Eduardo Vargas would be leaving Napoli, it now appears the Chile international is set for a stay in Naples after his agent confirmed he wouldn't be going anywhere. Cristian Ogalde told 'I spoke with Napoli on Tuesday. And the contract with them is still in force. They consider him an important part of the squad, and are looking forward to him starting pre-season. They told me that they were delighted with Eduardo at the World Cup. Mazzarri didn't really like him, but with Benitez it's a different story.'

Having impressed at the World Cup, Eduardo Vargas may be given another year to prove his worth at Napoli.

16.08 BST: This one has been rumbling on for a while now and it seems it might rumble a little further thanks to the comments made by Rubin Kazan president Ayrat Garayev. Yann M'Vila looks very close to signing for Inter Milan but the Russian club's president told LiveSport that the Frenchman is still a Rubin player. He said: 'I think it's premature to talk about the sale of M'Vila. At the moment he's gone nowhere. He is still a Rubin Kazan player. It's shame to know that he wants to return to [western] Europe, as he's one of our best players. But if he wants a change of scenery then there's not a lot we can do. If a deal does go through, then M'Vila will play for Inter - otherwise he'll say here.'

He sounds relatively resigned to losing him, doesn't he?

15.56 BST: Despite the ban from everything football related in the world, Luis Suarez is allowed to go for a medical at Barcelona. Even FIFA know this deal is going to happen.

15.55 BST: Atletico back in the transfer headlines with youngster Oliver Torres joining Porto on loan.

15.50 BST: DONE DEAL! Dutch side NAC Breda have secured the signing of highly-rated Ghanaian youngster Kingsley Boateng from AC Milan. The hot prospect came through the youth ranks at the San Siro but never made the grade in the first team and was loaned to Catania last year. He decided to move on in order to get more first-team opportunities.

15.43 BST: Liverpool fans, do not worry. If Luis Suarez leaves the club then fellow controversy-courter Mario Balotelli could be set to join. The Daily Express understands the Italian is open to a return to England and Brendan Rodgers is thinking about nipping in ahead of Arsene Wenger to sign him.

Mario Balotelli is not feeling the love at AC Milan and could return to England with Liverpool and Arsenal interested.

Super agent Mino Raiola said: 'Maybe it was a mistake to bring Mario back to Italy. For him it is essential to go where he is loved, and at AC Milan some people love him and some do not.'

15.37 BST: Earlier we told you Porto were in talks with both Inter Milan and Besiktas about selling centre back Rolando. Well it seems now Porto president Pinto da Costa has rubbished rumours and told any suitors the Brazilian is not for sale. He told Porto's official channel: "For a long time I decided to keep the player here with us and also, no one from Inter has came to talk with us about the player. All the days I've been hearing that Inter has been here to negotiate about buying him but today, against all the false news about his departure, Rolando is here to stay and to practice."

15.31 BST: Don't say it too loudly but old 'Arry is hoping to wheel and deal his way to QPR survival next season.

15.30 BST: It must almost be done as Mathieu Debuchy has removed any reference to Newcastle United from his Twitter bio. His £11 million move to Arsenal must be right around the corner.

15.24 BST: In Scotland and David Goodwillie, who was released by Blackburn Rovers and is training with St Johnstone, is still a target for Kilmarnock. He was once tipped for rather big things when he signed for Blackburn under Steve Kean. How times change.

15.18 BST: Dejan Lovren is set to test Southampton's resolve by no-showing for pre-season training until he can force through a move to Liverpool. Tottenham are also interested in the Croatian defender and it is said a £20 million bid could do the trick. Though the Southern Daily Echo claim Lovren is not a happy bunny at being told he is not allowed to leave.

15.14 BST: Crystal Palace have baulked at a rather large valuation of a transfer target as well. Islam Slimani is a wanted player around Europe after his performances for Algeria at the World Cup but the south London club are not happy at being told £6 million was the fee before the tournament and £10 million after. Boss Tony Pulis is said to want to move on to other targets if Sporting Lisbon refuse to lower the asking price.

15.07 BST: We knew about this one a long time ago but it has finally been confirmed by club and journalists alike! Read the full story here.

Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Emre Can from Bayer Leverkusen for a fee in the region of £10m.

15.00 BST: The figures involved in this Suarez deal are mind-bogglingly big...

14.55 BST: Southampton flop Pablo Osvaldo is currently negotiating a move away from the south coast club with Inter Milan said to be interested in his services. Sport Mediaset say despite a disappointing year for Saints and then on loan at  Juventus, the Nerazzuri are still prepared to take the controversial hit-man to the San Siro.

14.48 BST: Juventus and Roma did battle for the Serie A title last season and in the close-season are going to do battle again. This time for River Plate defender Eder Balanta who is currently at the World Cup with Colombia. He could cost upwards of £10 million according to Corriere Dello Sport.

14.41 BST: It looks like Juventus have given up on signing Manchester City defender Matija Nastasic on a permanent transfer and instead will try and loan the young Serb with a permanent deal possible in a years time. TalkSport say Juve are looking for a young defender to fill the boots of Andrea Barzagli who will miss the first few months of the season through injury.

14.35 BST: Poor FC Twente have been left confused by Swansea City who have had a £6.5 million bid for striker Luc Castaignos accepted but have yet to contact them or the player about finalising a deal. Wales Online claim Garry Monk might not fancy the former Inter Milan man after securing Bafetimbi Gomis and that a deal will probably peter out.

14.30 BST: Although a move is likely, Casemiro's agent has told Tuttomercatweb his client is in talks with Inter Milan about a move but they have yet to reach an agreement with his parent club Real Madrid just  yet. Marca are also running the story.

14.25 BST: So Andre Ayew fancies a move to the Bundesliga. No-one is actually interested in him (yet) but he is touting himself for a move away from Marseille. He told Bild: 'Bundesliga is one of the strongest leagues in the world. I can certainly imagine playing there to hone my skills.'

Andre Ayew is hoping to be celebrating a transfer to the Bundesliga after his impressive form in the World Cup for Ghana.

Ayew also said he would like to play in the same league as Kevin Prince Boateng because it would be 'great fun.'

14.21 BST: The wheels of change have been set in motion in Germany. Rumours around Twitter suggest Adam Szalai is about to sign for Hoffenheim after he passes his medical. He will leave Schalke after just a year at the club meaning 04 are set to bring in Mainz forward Choupo Moting as a replacement.

Adam Szalai on his way to Hoffenheim. Will sign after the medical. And leave Schalke after only one year, They Are set to bring in another attacker in Mainz Choupo Moting.

14.16 BST: Oscar Cardozo has one plenty of plaudits and even more admirers in his seven years at Benfica which is why it might be surprising to hear that A Bola are reporting he is set to sign for newly promoted Leicester City. No disrespect to the midlands club but that would be a hell of a coup if they did manage to lure him to the club.

14.13 BST: Erm, I think I may have finally unearthed why Fulham were relegated last season. Manager Felix Magath wouldn't sign Neymar if he was offered to him on a free transfer. No, really, you read that right. The eccentric German told German TV channel ZDF, 'Players like Neymar, where it's all about the individual scoring goals... I don't know. I probably wouldn't even take him for free.'

Take as much time as you need to let that sink in.

14.10 BST: Despite the media's best efforts, Daniel Levy told us Erik Lamela wouldn't be sold by Spurs. This latest tweet from the man himself would seem to confirm it.

14.02 BST: Massimo Ambrosini has won almost everything there is to win at club level but one such trophy missing from his cabinet is a second-tier league winners medal. The former AC Milan midfielder is being lined up by Championship side Watford according to Tuttomercatoweb who spoke to manager Guiseppe Sannino claiming: 'Who wouldn't like to train him? He's one of the most serious Italian players, a really good professional.'

13.54 BST: AS are really pushing this Falcao to Real Madrid thing...

13.49 BST: Manchester United youngster heads to Italy. Hopefully this isn't another Paul Pogba scenario. Well hopefully for Hellas Verona, hopefully not for Man Utd...

13.46 BST: Could be a huge transfer for AC Milan if they can pull it off but Ezequiel Lavezzi's huge £4.5 million a year wages could be a stumbling block. Tuttosport claim PSG are only asking £15 million for the Argentine forward, who wouldn't mind a return to Italy, and AC are ready to match that to bring him back to Serie A.

Lavezzi could be on his way out of PSG with AC Milan rumoured to be willing to bring back the tricky winger to Serie A.

13.42 BST: More bad news for Atletico Madrid as Bild say Bayern Munich are looking to sign Diego Godin in a big money move. Having already lost Diego Costa and Tiago, with Filipe Luis also set to leave, Diego Simeone could be left with a huge rebuilding job to do.

13.38 BST: Former Manchester City starlet Denis Suarez, who signed for Barcelona last season, has been granted a two-year loan spell with Sevilla, it has been confirmed.

13.37 BST: One injured goalkeeper doesn't get a transfer. The other one does. Let's see if Craig Gordon can rescue his faltering career with Celtic. Read the full story here.

13.35 BST: Respected journalist Graham Hunter reacts to the latest Victor Valdes news.

13.34 BST: DONE DEAL! Borussia Dortmund striker Julian Schieber has made the move to Hertha Berlin. The Bundesliga runners up confirmed their former player's departure in a press release not long ago.

13.30 BST: Reports this morning suggested Victor Valdes had passed a medical at Monaco and would be signing for the principality club. Now... it appears not.

13.27 BST: Sky are claiming Ipswich defender Aaron Cresswell is having a medical at West Ham.

13.23 BST: An interesting update on the Thorgan Hazard loan from Chelsea.

13.20 BST: My bad! Earlier we said Xherdan Shaqiri had two choices, a new contract at Bayern or a move to Liverpool. Well apparently Sevilla sporting director Monchi has told El Desmarque: 'We're following good players: Mathieu Valbuena, Xherdan Shaqiri, Dusan Tadic, Carlos Carmona, Marcelo Brozovic, Benjamin Stambouli. But we work with discretion because a lack of discretion can be harmful.'

And that is how in one quote, six different news articles can be written. Good work Monchi.

13.16 BST: And should none of these striking deals go through for Atletico, Marca say this is their plan B.

13.15 BST: Football agent Dion Green seems to think the Romelu Lukaku loan to Atletico Madrid is almost complete. Spanish paper El Confidencial also back this up saying a one-year loan is in the offing.

13.13 BST: Did you know his father played for Barcelona and his grandfather for Real Madrid? Well Sunderland's hopes of holding on to the historically illustrious Marcos Alonso have faded after The Journal reported the Spanish full back is excited to return to Fiorentina following his loan spell in the north-east last season.

13.08 BST: Slightly out of left field this one as James McCarthy has been targeted by Manchester United. Reports suggest a swap deal with Tom Cleverley could be on the cards. Considering how much he cost Everton last year, you'd have to imagine they would need a huge offer to lure him away from Goodison Park at the current time.

13.01 BST: New York City FC have already pillaged Chelsea for one former legend in Frank Lampard and it appears they now want to grab fellow former Chelsea stalwart Florent Malouda from Trabzonspor. They face competition from New York Red Bulls for the Frenchman's signature who is said to want to leave Turkey a year after arriving because he has not settled. say an offer of £1 million could be enough to secure the former Lyon man.

12.55 BST: Spurs now face stiff competition from Italy over the signature of PSV wonderkid Zakaria Bakkali. The Premier League club were thought to have agreed a £5 million deal with the young Belgian but reports from Calciomercato suggest Roma and Milan have entered the bidding at the 11th hour and could be about to hijack the deal. This is definitely one of those 'watch this space' stories.

12.50 BST: French youngster Kurt Zouma could be a loan target for Monaco according to the Daily Star. The 19-year-old was bought by Chelsea in January but loaned back to St Etienne for the remainder of the season. Though returning to Stamford Bridge, Jose Mourinho is said to want to loan him out again to gain more experience before he can make a mark on the first team. With Ricardo Carvalho and Eric Abidal both ageing (despite only just signing new deals) Zouma could be the perfect fill-in Leonardo Jardim's side are looking for.

12.43 BST: It's like Sophie's Choice. Except a hell of a lot easier. Xherdan Shaqiri must decide whether to accept Bayern Munich's improved contract offer or jump ship to England and sign a nice big contract with Liverpool according to the Daily Express. The poor bloke.

Xherdan Shaqiri has a choice to make - will it be a new contract at Bayern or a new start at Liverpool?

12.40 BST: It doesn't end there at the San Siro as AC Milan are also interested in signing Genoa pair Sime Vrsaljko and Mattia Perin. With Ignazio Abate on the verge of a move to PSG Adriano Galliani is said to be very interested in bringing the pair to the San Siro as replacements according to TuttoSport.

12.34 BST: AC Milan could be about to snap up Finnish midfielder Roman Eremenko in a cut-price deal according to Sky Sport Italia. The deal is part of Rubin Kazan's midfield reshaping policy which is seeing Yann M'Vila possibly joining Inter Milan. A deal could be done for the Finnish midfielder for around £5-6 million.

12.28 BST: Sad news for Arsenal fans. Any hope of signing Lorenzo Insigne have been dashed by his agent. Fabio Andreotti told Piunne television: 'Is Insigne's future at Napoli? Yes, absolutely, not Arsenal. I believe a player matures when he is 24 to 25 years old and this is not the right time to cash in on Insigne. We have been courted in recent years and we have received great offers this past year but Napoli does not want to deprive itself of Insigne.'

That'll be that then.

12.24 BST: It would appear Yacine Brahimi's impressive World Cup performances have not gone unnoticed and Granada have been receiving offers like nobody's business for their attacking midfielder. "We have received contacts from FC Porto, Atletico and Betis. These clubs wanted to know Brahimi's contractual situation," Granada sporting director Juan Carlos Cordero told L'ideal.

Yacine Brahimi's impressive World Cup has attracted the attention of Porto, Atletico, Betis and several Premier League clubs.

Though the Spanish club would be loathe to lose their star man, reports suggest a move could be imminent for the Algerian.

12.18 BST: Bit boring hearing this over and over with no actual new updates but apparently Dejan Lovren has his heart set on a move to Liverpool. £20 million is the fee. Seems like the same news we heard weeks ago.

12.15 BST: Reports in Turkey suggest Inter Milan bound Rolando could in fact be heading for Besiktas. The Porto defender spent last season on loan with Inter and were said to be close to agreeing a permanent deal with the Brazilian defender. However, interest from Turkey could throw a huge spanner in the works of any deal.

12.11 BST: As we confirmed earlier...

12.10 BST: It appears Andrew Robertson is not the only left back West Ham are after with reports from Sky Sports claiming the Hammers failed in a £3 million bid for Norwich City full back Martin Olsson.

12.06 BST: The Liverpool Echo claim Everton and West Ham are in a tug of war for Scottish left back Andrew Robertson, dubbed the 'new Leighton Baines.' The Dundee United full back is set to leave Tannadice this summer with the Premier League his most likely destination. West Ham have already had a £1.5 million bid rejected.

12.03 BST: Leeds United are loving it at the moment and can't stop signing people. After announcing the signing of goalkeeper Stuart Taylor earlier today, reports in the North claim the Elland Road club are about to sign Italian duo Tommaso Bianchi and goalkeeper Marco Silvestri on three year deals according to Tuttomercatoweb.

12.00 BST: It is now midday and we've heard absolutely nothing on Luis Suarez except that talks are ongoing. Tell your friends because THAT is an update...

11.56 BST: Remember that year that Brentford scored a couple of goals in the FA Cup and DJ Campbell was supposed to be the next big thing in English football? Well it didn't quite turn out that way and instead he is now being chased by a clutch of Championship clubs following his release from Blackburn Rovers according to Sky Sports.

11.54 BST: Athletic refusing to sell anyone else after the Ander Herrera affair.

11.52 BST: Looks like Monaco will be concentrating on signing players in their forward line then...

11.49 BST: No matter the bid, no matter the money thrown at him, Ashley Williams will be a Swansea City player next season, according to his agent. Speaking to the South Wales Evening Post, agent Jamie Moralee said, 'At the moment there have been some bids coming in. Swansea have rejected those because they think Ash is important - everyone's clear on that. Swansea are very clear that Ashley is not for sale.'

11.44 BST: Sky Sports are claiming Petr Cech, though sounded out by Monaco and PSG, would only leave Chelsea for a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona.

11.39 BST: An update on the Ross McCormack storm going on in Leeds from BBC journalist Adam Pope.

11.35 BST: Roma are set to sign Turkish wonderkid Salih Ucan from Fenerbahce and the deal could be completed as early as next week. claim the fee is not in excess of £10 million and that the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City have been beaten for his signature.

11.30 BST: It is a DONE DEAL as Antonio Nocerino will spend another season away from AC Milan as he has agreed to join Torino on loan next season having spent last year at West Ham.

11.25 BST: Poor multi-millionaire La Liga winning defender Filipe Luis might have to put his hand in his own pocket to get his dream move to Chelsea. Atletico Madrid won't budge on their £19 million valuation of the player report the Metro while the Blues refuse to offer that much. This means Filipe Luis might have to pay the remainder of the deal to meet his buy-out clause. Feel for the guy...

11.20 BST: He is no longer wanted at Liverpool and his potential suitors in Spain seem to have cooled interest and now his Napoli teammate Dries Mertens has told Corriere Dello Sport he wants him to stay. Pepe Reina spent last season on loan at the Partonopei but a permanent transfer appears to be on hold after hitting a stumbling block over wages.

Pepe Reina will be hoping to secure a move away from Liverpool or he could find himself among the substitutes bench at Anfield.

Mertens said: 'I hear many rumours, but even so I would very much to see Reina stay. It would be a shame if he could not find an agreement with Napoli."

11.16 BST: I guess that puts paid to any hopes the Premier League clubs had of signing Dmitri Payet...

11.13 BST: Probably just speculation this one but it looks like Mundo Deportivo say Atletico are interested in signing Benfica playmaker Nicolas Gaitan, with talks at advanced stage, but there is no mention of a fee. Which is why we think this one might just be speculation.

11.11 BST: And finally Marseille and Marcelo Bielsa is looking to revamp his squad after a disappointing 6th place finish in Ligue 1 last year. L'Equipe say the Argentine is looking to sign compatriot Lucas Ocampos from Monaco and to bring in Manchester City youngster Karim Rekik.

11.08 BST: Everyone knows PSG are after a right-back this summer after deciding Clement Chantome and Gregory van der Wiel aren't the answer. Early summer links to Barcelona's Dani Alves have cooled with a deal thought unlikely now and so the French champions are now looking to sign AC Milan's Ignazio Abate in an £8.5 million deal according to RMC.

11.06 BST: It is all going on in France at the moment. Loads of news coming up from Ligue 1 in the next few posts. Starting with the news Salomon Kalou could be heading out of Lille and to Turkey with French radio station RMC claiming the Ivorian is set for a move to Besiktas. The same source say Lille will be looking to Ghana's Jordan Ayew to fill the void left by Kalou.

11.04 BST: DONE DEAL! Catania have sold Pablo Barrientos to his former club in Argentina San Lorenzo. The Argentine has played for San Lorenzo twice before in 2003 and then again in 2008 and has left Catania following their relegation from Serie A.

11.00 BST: It looks as if Monaco are going to be busy again this summer. Reports from Marca suggest they can't wait to be rid of Falcao so long as the money is right. Should he head to Real Madrid as expected then Monaco would want first option on Angel di Maria who looks to be heading to PSG at the moment. New Monaco coach Leonardo Jardim is also interested in Alvaro Morata and is likely to want him involved in any deal.

10.54 BST: Malaga goalkeeper Willy Caballero could be on his way out of Spain and on the way to England with Manchester City as AS say the English champions are ready to bid £10 million for the 32-year-old goalkeeper.

Willy Caballero could be keeping goals out against Alexis Sanchez in the Premier League next season as both are touted for moves to England.

10.50 BST: Everybody wanted him but it appears Porto are going to get him. Cristian Tello has agreed terms with Porto according to Sport and a £12 million fee is set to be accepted. However, Barcelona will not let the rapid winger leave unless he tells the club he wants to go. This could get a little messy.

10.46 BST: It really is a merry-go-round isn't it? Marca claim that should James Rodriguez leave Monaco and head to Real Madrid then the French club would be looking to bring in Antoine Griezmann as his replacement. Some serious money is going to be flying around very soon...

10.43 BST: Arsenal are looking to steal a march on Manchester United and Chelsea by lodging a £24 million bid with Real Madrid for out-of-favour midfield general Sami Khedira according to the Daily Express.

10.39 BST: More from our man in France regarding the big transfer saga's this summer has to offer...

10.33 BST: Well who knew?! Karim Benzema has only a year left on his contract. Crept under the radar slightly that one. But have no fear Madrid fans and hold no hope everyone else as AS are reporting a new deal for the Frenchman has been agreed and he will sign after the World Cup. Excitement over.

10.27 BST: It is the story that just keeps on giving. James Rodriguez' father claims his son has always been a Real Madrid fan and his idol was Zinedine Zidane. The only problem with this is that James' father has been estranged from the family a long time ago and is probably not the most reliable of sources...

10.23 BST: Everton look like they want to stockpile all the England centre backs and provide the national team with a solid partnership and back-ups for all the future major tournaments (if England get there). This time they are being made odds on favourites to sign Cardiff City's Steven Caulker who is said to want to return to the Premier League. Crystal Palace are also said to be interested.

Steven Caulker is hoping to be celebrating a move back to the Premier League if a deal with Everton or Crystal Palace can be agreed.

9.49 BST: Comedy striker Nicklas Bendtner was released on a free transfer by Arsenal last week and his detractors would say that was a few years too late. But now it appears Frankfurt sporting director Bruno Hubner says in Kicker that the club is "in loose contact with Nicklas Bendtner, but that's also the case with other players." He has rejected reports that they were closing in on a deal.

Remembering the good times, Nicklas Bendtner won't be celebrating with his Arsenal teammates any more after being released by the club.

He told De Telegraaf amid rumours of interest from Arsenal and Liverpool: 'Because of the Liverpool rumours it would only be fair to talk to Schalke first. I am fully focused on the World Cup.' He is under contract at Schalke until 2015.

Huntelaar may be keeping tight-lipped about a potential move to Liverpool or Arsenal but a move could happen after the World Cup.

With David Luiz leaving Stamford Bridge for Paris Saint-Germain, the Daily Star reported it might be Zouma's turn to have a go at central defence for Jose Mourinho. Fellaini 'not a Man United player'

Marouane Fellaini is having a pretty solid World Cup down in Brazil and making many forget the lackluster season he turned in at Old Trafford during David Moyes' first and last season as manager. One person who seems unimpressed according to the Daily Mail is Louis van Gaal, and he's kind of a big deal there now.

Fellaini came off the bench to score Belgium's first goal of the World Cup and jump-start them in their opening win over Algeria. Since then, he's been a regular part of Marc Wilmots' lineup. No such luck for Fellaini in the Van Gaal era, though. The Everton transfer moved over to United with a 27-million-pound price tag, and MUFC might take pennies on the dollar to move the big Belgian along, with Van Gaal saying, "He's not a United player."

Suarez, Suarez, Suarez

As we pointed out the last time -- yesterday -- we mentioned Luis Suarez's name in Transfer Talk, rumours about the World Cup biting bandit will not go away. Until they do. So today we have the latest. A Liverpool source says that talks between Liverpool and Barcelona have happened and they were "productive."

New Barca manager Luis Enrique says he wants Suarez at the Nou Camp and a reported "gentleman's" agreement has been made with the Liverpool striker. For their part, the Anfield brass were adamant before negotiations began that they would not sell Suarez for less than the value of his confidential buyout clause, believed to be anywhere between 70 and 80 million pounds. So it's not THAT confidential.

In terms of bell weathers for imminent deals, reports that "when all three directors are involved at this stage of negotiations, it generally implies that a deal is close."

Lukaku made the difference for Belgium in extra time.
Romelu Lukaku put one past Tim Howard and assisted on another goal to help his Belgian side boot the U.S. from the 2014 World Cup.

Lukaku back in business

Nothing like a goal and an assist in a high-profile round of 16 World Cup match to get your transfer value moving in the right direction. Belgium's Romelu Lukaku was a regular in Transfer Talk pre-World Cup. But a couple of so-so outings in Brazil saw him land on the bench in favour of Divock Origi.

Lukaku had spells of brilliance at Everton as an on-loan squad member from Chelsea. Now it seems Atletico Madrid want to throw their name in the hat to bring the Belgian powerhouse -- who looked unstoppable as a sub in his team's 2-1 win over the United States -- to play for the La Liga champs to offset the loss of Diego Costa.

Thanks, but no thanks Rio

In a rebuke that smells of age discrimination, the Mirror is reporting that Rio Ferdinand's move to Queens Park Rangers might be submarined by club chiefs who think the former England national team defender is too old. Ferdinand will be 36 in November. And even though manager Harry Redknapp persuaded the former Manchester United player to take a big drop in salary to come to Loftus Road, the board says no dice.
