Toe Poke Daily: Man City, PSG and Arsenal reveal new kits

With Rodri set to join Manchester City this summer from Atletico Madrid, Sid Lowe breaks down how the Spaniard will make an impact on the pitch.

The Toe Poke Daily is here every day to bring you all the weirdest stories, quirkiest viral content and top trolling that the internet has to offer, all in one place.

Never fear, kit launch is here

With fans of the beautiful game around the world enjoying a packed summer of international football, it'd be understandable if domestic -- which starts in just over a month -- fell off your radar. But fear not, kit launch season is upon us.

Roma's unique transfer mission to help missing persons

Renowned for their irreverent approach to social media, Roma have announced that they will be using their platform for an altogether more worthy cause this summer.

Rather than the usual viral videos and memes, the Giallorossi will be pairing their forthcoming transfer announcements with appeals to raise awareness and hopefully help locate missing children all around the world.

The Serie A side began the campaign by confirming Leonardo Spinazzola's arrival from Juventus with appeals for information on the whereabouts of four missing American children.

Noble stuff.

Ronaldo looking to get even faster

Watch out, world, Cristiano Ronaldo is trying to get even more speed that he has already.

The 34-year-old Juventus forward has been training with former Olympic sprinter and 2004 Athens Olympics' 100m silver medalist, as well as his fellow Portuguese, Francis Obikwelu.

New Zealand call-up just makes sense

The day is upon us when Rio Ave youngster Ollie Whyte has received his first international call-up for his native New Zealand.

This is noteworthy as the 19-year-old winger is now part of the All-White's Under-23 squad for the Pacific Games, which is seen as preparation for the upcoming Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

In other words, Ollie Whyte is now officially an "Oly White."

Congratulations to him. It's almost as if it were written in the stars.

A Silva lining at Glastonbury

Thiago Silva received an unlikely name-check at the Glastonbury on Sunday when UK grime artist Dave performed his song named after the PSG captain during his festival debut.

In fact, the credit should definitely go to the fan -- simply identified as Alex -- wearing a PSG shirt whom Dave spotted in the crowd and brought up on stage to duet with him (on a song that also mentions Sergio Aguero and Kaka).

Amazingly enough, word reached Thiago Silva himself, who was suitably impressed to thank Dave, Alex and everybody involved on social media.

The Brazilian defender then asked his followers to help him track down Alex, with the man himself soon raising his hand.

In all honesty, we're not entirely sure what is likely to happen next but if it's another collaboration, this time between Silva and the kid who sung his name at Glasto, then we're all for it.

Memorialising Dunseth's dog

The loss of a pet was made a bit easier for Real Salt Lake colour commentator Brian Dunseth by the MLS club's fans, who memorialised his dog Nesta with a tribute from the supporters section.

Last week, the Dunseth family said good bye to Nesta, a 13-year-old English Bulldog who was an integral part of their daily life and a large part of many happy memories. Dunseth, the former RSL defender-turned-broadcaster, is a popular figure among the fan base.

Nic Osterhout, a member of one of the club's supporters' groups, decided to honour the passing of Nesta with a flag that was draped from the capo stand.

"Tears were flowing the moment Nic sent this picture to me during the pregame show on Saturday," Dunseth told ESPN FC. "To have someone be that thoughtful of our family's loss and put together something so meaningful and visually so accurate to Nesta is something I'll never be able to repay.

"Floored by the gesture and can't wait to frame it for the house so our family can see here everyday."

The dog was named not named after Alessandro Nesta, the former Italian international. He was named after Robert Nesta Marley, more commonly known as Bob Marley.
