The USA got their Women's World Cup campaign off to a formidable start by registering an all-time record win over Thailand in their opening group game.
A crushing 13-0 victory in Reims stunned the watching world as the defending champions were merciless in their dismantling of their opponents, with Alex Morgan the star of the show after scoring five of the goals.
In honour of that historic scoreline, here are 13 takeaways from the match.
Player kicked out of squad for flashing on Fortnite
BREAKING: Algeria send home Haris Belkebla after he exposed his bum live on a Fortnite stream. Belmadi is expected to replace him with another central midfielder; Saphir Taider the favourite.https://t.co/bOcoo6seY5— DZ Football (@DZFootball_en) June 11, 2019
Haris Belkebla has reportedly been kicked out of Algeria's Africa Cup of Nations squad after showing more than his gaming prowess on his teammate's Fortnite stream.
The African nation's back-up goalkeeper Alexandre Oukidja was playing the popular online game in the early hours when uncapped midfielder Belkebla bared his backside live on air. Video of the incident then went viral on social media.
The Brest midfielder did not feature in Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Burundi and reports emerged he had been replaced in the squad by USM Alger midfielder Mohamed Benkhemessa by coach Djamel Belmadi after the match.
Liverpool update Anfield's 'Walk of Champions'
The tunnel has had an upgrade! 🤩🏆❤ pic.twitter.com/9AVOdNbhrc— Liverpool FC (@LFC) June 12, 2019
Liverpool have upgraded the tunnel at their stadium to commemorate their most recent bout of Champions League glory.
The large "Walk of Champions" trophy count at Anfield has been updated to include the Reds' sixth European cup victory which, as we're sure you'll recall, was sealed with a recent win over Tottenham.
Also included are the club's 18 league titles, seven FA Cups, three UEFA Cups, eight League Cups and three UEFA Super Cups.
Sadly there doesn't appear to be any space to add the Lancashire League Division One title that Liverpool won in 1892-93.
Still, it's a decent haul, all things considered.
Ligue 1 gets tasty new sponsor... Uber Eats
As of the start of the 2019-20 season, the top division in French football will go by the official title of the Uber Eats Ligue 1.
This comes after the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) agreed a "major new partnership" with Uber Eats, the global food delivery app.
The deal is set to last three seasons, beginning this year and expiring at the end of the 2021-22 campaign.
According to the LFP, the partnership will offer "many opportunities to all fans of French football", which we can only presume means a steady supply of complimentary pizzas, burgers and kebabs throughout the season for Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and the rest of the league's stars.
Messi and co. need more target practise
Argentina kick off their Copa America campaign on Saturday, in search of their first major trophy since 1993.
But if they want to get their tournament off to a good start against Colombia in Salvador then they'll need to improve their shooting, if this clip of their training session is anything to go by.
Colombia legend Higuita pledges to lose iconic mullet

Speaking of Colombia, it is with great trepidation we must inform you that one of the most iconic and enduring hairstyles in the history of professional football is under threat.
Rene Higuita has threatened to cut off his glorious tumble of tresses if Colombia fail to win the Copa America this summer.
The legendarily hirsute ex-goalkeeper, similarly famous for his "scorpion kick," has vowed to shave his head if Los Cafeteros don't end up lifting the trophy at the Maracana come July 7.
"If Colombia don't finish as champions then I'll cut my hair," Higuita said.
"Colombia are playing good football. We need to back the bravery of this coach [Carlos Queiroz]. I hope the results come."
For the record, they haven't won a Copa since 2001.
