Lewis Hamilton meets Dani Alves as Sergio Aguero, Kaka, Ruud Gullit enjoy Italian GP
With the Italian Grand Prix rolling into town, several familiar footballing faces descended on Monza over the weekend to take in the Formula 1 action.
While Cristiano Ronaldo was heavily rumoured to be making an appearance beforehand, the Juventus star did not attend the event -- though several of his contemporaries were spotted milling around before and after the race.
Fresh from Man City's 2-1 win over Newcastle, Sergio Aguero was seen in the pits, grinning from ear to ear while posing for photos with Red Bull drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen.
Verstappen proved to be a popular attraction, with fellow Dutchman Ruud Gullit also dropping in for a pre-race chat.
Dani Alves managed to grab a photo with fellow style icon Lewis Hamilton, who eventually went on to win the Grand Prix despite a first-lap collision with rival Sebastian Vettel.
While Ronaldo was a no-show, there was at least one Ballon d'Or winner that made it to Monza.
Having rejoined Milan as a trainee sporting director last week, Kaka was all smiles as he stopped for selfies on the grid.
In clinching the victory, Hamilton took yet another step closer to clinching his fifth Formula 1 world championship after Ferrari's Vettel could only recover to take fourth place.
As such, Hamilton's lead at the top of the standings is increased to 30 points with just seven races remaining.
