David De Gea dubbed 'Karius' by Real Madrid's Marco Asensio, Lucas Vazquez

It seems that Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea has a new nickname in the Spain camp, after he was greeted by Real Madrid's Marco Asensio and Lucas Vazquez with shouts of "Karius, Karius" in the tunnel at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium last Monday.

Ahead of United's 2-1 International Champions Cup victory, De Gea was heading towards the pitch when he heard a familiar voice coming from behind -- with Spanish TV station Gol capturing a smirking Lucas and Asensio having got their national team colleague's attention.

De Gea had a difficult summer with Spain -- making just one save across four games as La Roja exited to hosts Russia in the World Cup round of 16.

This appears to have led to the comparison with Liverpool's Loris Karius, whose last few months have gone even worse.

Karius' disastrous display in Liverpool's Champions League final defeat to Madrid in May was followed by more mistakes in preseason, and the signing of Alisson Becker from Roma as their new first choice goalkeeper.

De Gea took the trolling better than might have been expected -- with the video showing him embracing his international teammates before they continued down the tunnel.
