England players help James Corden recruit American fans for World Cup

England players are eager for American fans to root for them in the World Cup. Or at least, James Corden says they are.

With the United States failing to qualify for the World Cup, Americans were left without a team in Russia this summer, and there have been a number of efforts to attract their attention.

U.S. legend Landon Donovan suggested Mexico (to mixed results), and in a sketch for his "Late Late Show," Corden recruited his native country's team to pitch to an American audience on why they deserve support.

Corden was joined by Harry Kane, Kyle Walker, Jesse Lingard, Eric Dier, Dele Alli and Jamie Vardy -- but not all of them were thrilled to be there.

Alli was particularly concerned with his Statue of Liberty garb, Kane was told he's not even England's third favourite "Harry," and Vardy -- well, poor Jamie Vardy.

In the end, it all worked about as well as the first time Corden tried to help train David Beckham's England team nine years ago. Maybe next time, James.
