Manchester United's Alexis Sanchez posts motivational Rocky clips

After a fairly paltry start to his Manchester United career, Alexis Sanchez found himself left out of the squad entirely for Saturday night's FA Cup quarter-final against Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Chilean reacted to being dropped by hitting the gym hard the morning after the match, sharing clips on Instagram in a state of sweat-drenched undress while lip-syncing along to "La Fine" by Tiziano Ferro.

Perhaps pointedly, La Fine is a song about defiance in the face of overwhelming adversity, containing lyrics such as "When someone crushes you, you must be the first to attack."

Sanchez then followed up his little sing-song by posting a speech from Rocky in which veteran coach Mickey reveals to Sylvester Stallone's character that he's his only "motivisation (sic) for staying alive".

Do you think Alexis is trying to tell somebody something?

Chris covers the funny side of the game for ESPN FC in the Toe Poke blog.
