Man United boss Jose Mourinho to be World Cup analyst for Russian TV

Jose Mourinho is going to the World Cup, not as a coach but as a pundit with Russian broadcasters RT.

The Manchester United boss will be in Moscow to provide expert analysis and share his unique insight throughout RT's coverage of the 2018 World Cup.

Here he is announcing the big news, trying hard to crack a smile despite every fibre in his body fighting against it.

"I am very happy to join the team at RT. I am looking forward to attending the World Cup in Russia this summer and sharing my insights into the games," said Mourinho.

The Portuguese will also be joined in the RT World Cup dream team by ex-United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel, who has signed up to host a "commentary series" before and during the tournament.

Exactly what that entails remains to be seen.

Chris covers the funny side of the game for ESPN FC in the Toe Poke blog.
