Burnley have fun after Ben Mee tackle on Bernardo Silva goes viral

Burnley battled their way to an impressive 1-1 draw against Man City at the weekend, with defender Ben Mee taking a very literal approach to stopping the runaway Premier League leaders in the tracks.

Inspired by the image of Mee manhandling Bernando Silva like an unruly child, the Clarets' social media team began pumping out a series of excellent photoshopped images.

First came a loving homage to a Steven Spielberg classic.

The Premier League's official US account also got involved in the merriment, offering their very own take on the war movie genre.

Burnley weren't finished there as the club continued to splice Mee and Silva into a variety of different settings, including Wrestlemania and the Super Bowl.

So... who watched the big game last night? 👀 #SuperBen2018

Terrific stuff across the board, though we definitely think the original "Saving Private Bernardo" effort was the strongest.

Here's hoping the Clarets go on to produce a spoof movie poster after every single game for the remainder of the season.

Chris covers the funny side of the game for ESPN FC in the Toe Poke blog.
