Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang steals the show at CAF Awards

Mohamed Salah was crowned African Player of the Year at the CAF Awards after helping propel Egypt to their first World Cup finals since Italia 1990.

Indeed, the Liverpool forward took the honours by garnering an enormous 97 percent of the public vote thus beating Sadio Mane into second place and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang into third.

Mohamed Salah won the African Player of the Year award, beating Sadio Mane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Dortmund striker attended the CAF gala in Accra, Ghana, wearing the kind of gold-braided military tunic once favoured by the likes of Napoleon Bonaparte.

If the award was to be decided out on style points alone, there can be no question that the Gabon international would have emerged with a flawless victory.
