Jose Mourinho treated to expensive wine thanks to Bristol boss' daughter
As Bristol City prepare to face Manchester United for the first time in almost 40 years, the Robins' young manager Lee Johnson has pulled out all the stops to impress his opposite number.
With the two sides set to meet at Ashton Gate in the quarterfinals of the Carabao Cup, Johnson is hoping for an opportunity to chat with Jose Mourinho after the final whistle.
"I hope [to spend some time with him]," the 36-year-old told BBC Sport.
"I spent £450 on a bottle of wine! I have had to raid my little girl's piggy bank. It is being flown in especially from Portugal."
Johnson has reportedly ordered a special bottle of Barca Velha Red 2004, which is said to be one of Mourinho's favourite postmatch tipples.
"We have done the due diligence and realised Jose likes this particular bottle that has to be poured by an expert," the City boss added.
"Jose's right up there. I've read all his books, I've watched any session that's possible to watch, I've studied his interviews.
"So hopefully he'll come in and have a little chat with me and I'll try to pick his brain for five or 10 minutes."
Honestly, after spending £450 on a single bottle of plonk, it'd be churlish of Mourinho not to spend the entire evening answering every single one of Johnson's questions.
