Gintra Universitetas' incredible open goal miss in Champions League
Gintra Universitetas now have a mountain to climb if they have any hope of reaching the quarterfinals of the Women's Champions League after slumping to a 6-0 home defeat against Barcelona in the first leg of their round of 16 tie on Wednesday.
The Lithuanian side held firm for 30 minutes before the floodgates finally opened, duly finding themselves three goals down before the hour mark.
However, Gintra were presented with a golden chance to pull one back shortly thereafter, only for three of their forwards to make an absolute hash of opening.
An error of judgement saw Barca keeper Sandra Panos leave her goal completely vacant, only for the strikers to trip over one another at the critical moment.
The two sides are scheduled to meet again in Catalonia next Wednesday.
