Ronaldinho makes pitch invader's day during friendly in Costa Rica

Ronaldinho, currently without a club, is making ends meet this summer by appearing in a series of charity matches in El Salvador, Honduras and several other Central America countries.

To that end, the 37-year-old Brazilian legend took part in a Costa Rica Legends exhibition fixture in San Jose over the weekend and, understandably, the locals were eager to catch a glimpse of the former World Footballer of the Year.

Indeed, one young Costa Rican fan was so keen to meet his idol that he want running out onto the pitch in an attempt to find him.

Sadly, the fan was unable to locate Ronaldinho among the two teams and was subsequently swept away by stadium security -- until his hero emerged from the far side of the field to intervene.

Lovely stuff.

Chris covers the funny side of the game for ESPN FC in the Toe Poke blog.
