Fiorentina release FOUR away kits for new Serie A season

Fiorentina fans will have to dig even deeper to wear their club's colours away this season after no fewer than four away shirts were unveiled.

La Viola will have four alternatives to their iconic purple home kit, with four away shirts -- in white, green, red and blue -- released. Each one represents one of the four districts of the ancient Calcio Fiorentina game, which is rooted in the city's history.

It means fans now have to buy five shirts to have the complete collection for their team's games this term.

"Fiorentina have decided to have four second strips and we have supported this particular idea, which values the history and traditions of Florence," a statement by the Lega Serie A's general director Marco Brunelli on the Serie A club's website read.

"Serie A is always looking to ensure there is a feeling between fans, sport and initiatives linked with the development of the game of football."

It is not clear what sort of "feeling" they have given Fiorentina fans by permitting five different playing shirts for the season.
