New England Revolution ace Kei Kamara's Twitter rant on MLS rules

Kei Kamara has proved that he is not a man to shy away in the face of injustice.

The New England Revolution striker recently received a $1,250 fine from MLS for the heinous crime of wearing a pair of support socks that aren't included on the league's strict list of approved kit.

Kamara attempted to appeal the fine through official channels only to reach a dead end, so instead he took to Twitter to voice his frustration -- and he came fully armed with print-outs, doctors' notes and other various props.

Explaining his predicament in the video, Kamara claims MLS chose to fine him for wearing non-mandatory socks because he is a "high-profile player."

He then points out that two other similarly prominent USMNT players -- Michael Bradley and Jozy Altidore -- have also been seen wearing the exact same brand of socks in multiple games so far this season without being fined.

Thank you Kei, if only for shining a light on the ridiculous red tape that professional players are forced to face in the name of overzealous league protocol.

Chris covers the funny side of the game for ESPN FC in the Toe Poke blog.
