Everton wonderkid, 8, scores screamer; fans want him up front vs. Arsenal
Everton fans have joked that an eight-year-old academy player should start against Arsenal in the first-team's final outing of the season this weekend after winning the club's Goal of the Season award.
The Toffees held their annual academy awards bash on Thursday where the unnamed Under-9s player picked up the aforementioned trophy courtesy of this exquisite strike against Derby County.
"Class that lad! For an 8 year old as well... get him in the team!" remarked one Everton supporter after the club shared the fantastic goal on Twitter.
"Start him on Sunday," quipped another.
He may be a little young to start the match, but with a seventh-place finish already guaranteed, Ronald Koeman might just be tempted to throw him on for the last 10 minutes.
