Ligue 1 champions elect Monaco book 50 Cent for title celebrations

A comprehensive 4-0 win against Lille over the weekend was enough to all but seal Monaco's first Ligue 1 title since the turn of the millennium.

Leonardo Jardim's side are now three points ahead of PSG in the standings with a game in hand, meaning that a draw against Saint-Etienne on Wednesday night would be enough to mathematically seal the deal.

Slightly premature as it may be, Monaco's thoughts have already turned to celebrating the championship in fitting fashion, with the news that the club have gone and booked 50 Cent to perform at their victory party.

"The American star will come to celebrate the excellent results of Falcao's teammates this Sunday in the Palace Square in the Principality," reads a statement on Monaco's official club website.

Fiddy will give a private concert for the players and staff, with Monaco club members also having the opportunity to apply for free tickets.

There are also strong rumours that Bruno Mars will be dropping in at some point to take part in the festivities.

Let's just hope the Rogues et Blancs don't blow it now!

Chris covers the funny side of the game for ESPN FC in the Toe Poke blog.
