Bastian Schweinsteiger in Miami as Germany and Ivanovic lose
Germany have had a difficult weekend -- losing against rivals England -- but their captain, Manchester United's Bastian Schweinsteiger, avoided having to watch. He was in Miami supporting his girlfriend, Ana Ivanovic, as she played in a tennis tournament.
Sadly for him, Ivanovic also suffered a Saturday defeat as she crashed out of the Miami Open in the third round, losing 7-5, 6-4 against Timea Bacsinszky.
Schweinsteiger left international duty after suffering a problem with his right knee during training with the national squad on Tuesday. He was wearing a knee brace as he was snapped in Miami.
The midfielder, who could miss Euro 2016 as a result of his injury, did not appear in pain, but he might have felt some discomfort at what he was seeing. Both your national team and girlfriend crashing to defeat? That's a double fault.
