David Villa and Andrea Pirlo help launch new NYCFC kit

New York City FC have been gearing up for the 2016 MLS season by launching a fresh new away kit for the upcoming campaign.

The jersey is predominantly navy blue with neon orange trim but features an eye-catching "ripple" design across the chest that seems to have split fan opinion right down the middle.

In a bid to help introduce the new strip to the good people of New York, the club sent a few of their brightest stars, David Villa, Andrea Pirlo and Kwadwo Poku, on to the streets of the five boroughs to show it off to the locals.

Villa visited an Irish pub on the upper east side, Pirlo was dispatched to an Italian restaurant in Soho and Poku dropped in on a youth centre in Brooklyn to give a few fans a glimpse of NYCFC's new threads.

Personally, we rather like the kit, though it would appear many fans aren't overly keen on the "puddle" motif.

What's the verdict Toe Pokers? Yay or nay?
