Australian Rugby League star Robbie Farah has Steven Gerrard in his sights

Robbie Farah
Rugby League star Robbie Farah is desperate for the chance to take on some of his Liverpool heroes.

Australian Rugby League star Robbie Farah is itching to take on the likes of Steven Gerrard, Robbie Fowler and Jamie Carragher.

The trio of ex-Liverpool players are in Sydney to partake in a Liverpool Legends vs. Australian Legends exhibition match on Thursday night, but they might find themselves lining up against a rugby player rather than some retired Socceroos.

The Wests Tigers and NSW Origin hooker is supposed to be working on the sideline as Australian Legends' manager Graham Arnold's assistant, but he is hoping to live every football fan's dream and get a late call-up to the playing squad.

"I'll be asking him [Arnold]," Farah told Football Federation Australia's official website of his desire to play.

"I did bring my boots. They're in my bag, so whether or not that will happen, I'm not too sure.

"Just for five minutes, to get on there would be unbelievable. ... We'll see what happens."

TP wonders what the LA Galaxy will think of their marquee player going toe-to-toe with one of Australia's toughest Rugby stars.
