Barcelona's Lionel Messi makes 4.5m pesos UNICEF donation live on TV

Lionel Messi has made a huge donation to UNICEF Argentina live on television.

Barcelona star Messi is one of the richest players on the planet and pledged a staggering 4.5 million pesos (approximately £315,000) to the UNICEF cause, with the organisation announcing his donation on Twitter.

Messi also appeared in a video-link to confirm the news on live television, telling the audience: "It's a pleasure to be with you all through this video, collaborating with the people of UNICEF."

Isn't it nice when footballers do something like that with their money, rather than splashing their cash on cars or champagne.
