Jurgen Klopp set to receive caricature carpet from local Dortmund firm
Outgoing Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp is set to receive a black and yellow carpet with his face woven into it as a farewell gift from a firm in Dortmund.
The "TWR -- Teppichwascherei & Reparatur Center Dortmund" (TWR carpet laundry & repair centre Dortmund) commissioned a 200x140cm carpet when the 2014-15 season kicked off, local paper Ruhr Nachrichten reported.
"We are all huge football fans here in the company, and thought this carpet would be a stunning idea. When it was announced that Klopp will leave Dortmund, we were all sad," said Zafer Belimkan, who commissioned the carpet.
During the six-month manufacturing process in Nepal, Dortmund's downfall in Bundesliga led to Klopp handing in his resignation for the end of the season after seven years at the Westfalenstadion.
But less than a month before Klopp's announcement to leave Dortmund, Belinkam received the finished work from Nepal, and was pleased with the result. "That's a good likeness of him," he told the local daily.
On Tuesday, Belinkam now hopes to present the carpet to Klopp at Borussia's training facilities as a farewell gift and to honour "what he has done at BVB."
Should the outgoing coach not want the glorious carpet, he said: "we hope that he signs it so we can auction for children cancer aid."
