Having made his last competitive appearance for Arsenal way back on February 2 as a late substitute against Crystal Palace, Nicklas Bendtner has finally found himself a new club -- signing a three-year deal to join Bundesliga side Wolfsburg.
However, after a summer spent chasing the likes of Edin Dzeko, Romelu Lukaku and Alvaro Morata to lead their line for next season to no avail, Bendtner's arrival seemed to be somewhat deflating for Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking, who was hardly gushing with praise when he told Kicker at the Dane's press conference unveiling.
He said: "We dared to touch the top shelf of players. It's empty now though, so we need to look a bit further down."
Ouch. No two ways about it: that's gotta sting!
