Drenthe invites random fans over for FIFA 14 tournament

With a spare couple of hours on his hands and boredom creeping in, Reading midfielder Royston Drenthe issued an open call via his Instagram account on Sunday afternoon to select four random Royals fans to come over to his house and stage an impromptu FIFA 14 tournament.

"Anyone who thinks they are good at FIFA14 & is a Reading fan living in reading, like this pic & tomorrow I will choose 4 people to come to mine to play a FIFA14 tournament," Drenthe warbled before adding that he would also provide a "nice prize" for the winner.

Sure enough, Drenthe selected four eager Reading fans at random and invited them round to his gaff, subsequently documenting the tournament via a series of further Instagram posts.

The hardy quintet duked it out for several hours, as seen in this thrilling action shot.

After a long, hard slog, a winner was eventually crowned, with the Dutch host keeping up his end of the bargain and supplying the prize: a personalised Reading away shirt, complete with Drenthe's name and number on the back.

Top stuff, Royston.
