Ronaldo's dodgy statue of his head

'Golden Balls' gunked in golden goo

David Beckham and sons Romeo and Cruz were covered in golden gunge at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Sports Awards.

It takes somebody rather brave to cover "Golden Balls" in golden gunge, but that's exactly what the folks at Nickelodeon did on Thursday night.

In Los Angeles for the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Sports Awards, David Beckham was presented the "Legend Award" by two of his sons, Romeo and Cruz.

Much to their surprise, Beckham and his boys were soon covered head-to-toe in the slimey stuff, with goo fired from all angles at the unsuspecting trio.

But while the former England captain looked as if he could take the joke, his nine-year-old son Cruz was not best pleased that his new t-shirt had been ruined.

Brooklyn, Harper and Victoria, meanwhile, were probably glad they opted to give this awards ceremony a miss.

Yet where many would have crumbled, a post-gunge Beckham still managed to hold things together to give his acceptance speech to a watching audience.

"When I was young, my dream was to be a professional soccer player," he said.

"If you have dreams and you believe in yourself, your dreams can come true.

"Thank you very much."

Is there nothing that fazes this man?!
