Mourinho enters pitch, commits foul in charity game

Jose Mourinho's cynicism extended to the pitch in a charity match.
Jose Mourinho's cynicism extended to the pitch in a charity match.

Last night saw an England side made up of various legends and celebrities take on Jose Mourinho's Rest of the World team in the annual UNICEF Soccer Aid charity game at Old Trafford.

Just 10 or so minutes into the game and with celebrity England winger Olly Murs about to launch on yet another raid down the left flank against the already-knackered Rest of the World right-back (Welsh actor Michael Sheen), Mourinho seized the initiative, scampered out onto the pitch and promptly stopped him in his tracks by chopping down the sprightly pop star from behind.

Not even so much as a booking!

As well executed as Mourinho's sly trip was, it doesn't even compare to the greatest-ever foul committed in a charity game.

Ladies and gentlemen, we give you Boris Johnson (now the Mayor of London) vs. ex-Germany international Maurizio Gaudino.

Chris covers the funny side of the game for ESPN FC in the Toe Poke blog.
