Chelsea comprehensively pooped Arsene Wenger's party on his 1,000th game in charge at Arsenal, turning the Gunners inside-out with a 6-0 mauling at Stamford Bridge.
Already 2-0 after just seven minutes, Arsenal were reduced to ten men just 10 minutes later when Kieran Gibbs made a desperate, sprawling, full-length save to prevent Eden Hazard slotting in from close range, with referee Andre Marriner duly sending Gibbs off for deliberate handball.
There was, however, one small problem: it wasn't Gibbs at all, but rather Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who palmed Hazard's wayward shot even further wide of the post.To Oxlade-Chamberlain's credit, he then tried to inform Marriner of his error, visibly telling the official that "it was me" during the furore surrounding the decision.
We think an appeal may just be in the pipeline.
In fact, so do the FA for that matter!
