Mirko situation at Spurs not stopping Vucinic deal

Tottenham are not letting the fallout of Andre Villas-Boas' exit disturb their January transfer plans, with the Daily Star reporting that Spurs are eyeing a move for Juventus striker Mirko Vucinic. The 30-year-old moved to the Serie A leaders from Roma only two years ago but has failed to establish himself as a first-team starter this season. And despite the Montenegro international being under contract in Turin for another two years, Juventus are thought to be interested in loaning him out until the end of the season. And that has piqued the interest of Tottenham, with football director Franco Baldini rumoured to want Vucinic to replace the MLS-bound Jermain Defoe.

Staying in London and the Mirror are reporting that Arsenal are losing the battle for highly regarded Barcelona youngster Antonio Sanabria. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been rumoured to be interested in the 17-year-old Paraguay international, with the Frenchman hoping to lure the youngster to London in the January window. However, Roma have been neck-and-neck with their Premier League rivals in the race for Sanabria, and it seems the Italians are close to winning the battle. Reports suggest that Roma have made an offer that more than meets the starlet's buy-out clause of 3.6 million pounds.

Finally, Fulham have joined the race to sign young Manchester United defender Alexander Buttner. The left-back has failed to shine under Red Devils boss David Moyes this season, making only six appearances in all competitions this season. And the Dutchman's situation at Old Trafford has alerted a number of clubs, with Fulham joining the likes of Roma and Genoa for the 24-year-old. However, Fulham boss Rene Meulensteen, a former United assistant, is hoping his old ties with the reigning Premier League champions will smooth the way for Buttner's transfer to Craven Cottage.
