That's football, and I'm very happy for him because I'm sure that if he's moving back it's because he wanted it."

Now international teammate Dries Mertens has told the Belgian Arsenal captain to join him at Napoli. 14.40 BST: Naughty naughty Chelsea. Apparently they've been talking to Raphael Varane's agent behind Real Madrid's back in an attempt to lure him to Stamford Bridge. It is no secret Jose Mourinho is a huge fan of Varane's but any deal would probably rely on the player pushing for a move to get first-team football rather than any willingness on Real Madrid's part to sell.
14.32 BST: Sunderland look to be pursuing Fabio Borini with some gusto. Liverpool clearly need to make a choice here.
14.25 BST: Push the panic button Aston Villa fans, the inevitable has begun. 13.12 BST: Cash-strapped AC Milan are keeping close tabs on Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier according to Tuttosport. The Italian giants are struggling for funds though and are hoping to secure a move for less than £10 million as they look to rebuild their squad.13.04 BST: Well, if the agent has confirmed it, it must be true.

12.45 BST: Here is a very good analysis of the Marco Reus transfer myth to Liverpool from Sport Witness.
12.37 BST: We started the day with the news Chelsea duo Marko Marin and Demba Ba were close to joining Besiktas. Well the Turkish giants have taken it upon themselves to rubbish the rumour and have said there are no deals in place to bring them in on loan. End of discussion.
12.30 BST: Sources in Portugal claim Benfica striker Oscar Cardozo has rejected the chance to move to West Ham United. The frontman had been tipped for a move to the Premier League but TalkSport claim he is pushing for a move to Russia... presumably, where the money is.
12.23 BST: Though we're sure it won't be much of a consolation, Argentina goalkeeper Sergio Romero can take small solace in the fact he may not be a World Cup winner but he is going to get a move to Portuguese champions Benfica. According to a report in Genoan newspaper Secolo XIX, Benfica have been impressed with the Sampdoria goalkeeper's performances at the World Cup and now want to bring him in to replace Atletico Madrid-bound Jan Oblak between the sticks. He could be available at a reasonable price too with his contract running out next summer.
12.15 BST: Inter Milan could wrap up a deal for Yann M'Vila by tonight according to reports. Gazzetto dello Sport say Rubin Kazan have finally decided to sanction the deal once their president gets back from Brazil. Hopefully, apart from the confirmation, that is the last time we need to hear about this deal! It's been going on for weeks.
12.10 BST: Yet more Twitter news as Newcastle close in on yet another signing.
12.04 BST: And yet more on QPR. Looks like Rio Ferdinand's holiday with the BBC in Brazil is over and he actually needs to sort out his future.

11.56 BST: Thought it was a long shot...
Liverpool baffled by reports linking them with Marco Reus and insist they've shown no interest in him despite suggestions to the contrary.- Tony Barrett (@TonyBarretTimes) July 14, 2014
11.53 BST: AC Milan are considering offering Ignazio Abate as bait to bring in Zenit St Petersburg's Domenico Criscito. The Italian giants have been unwilling to spend big in the transfer market and apparently the deal to bring in Sime Vrsaljko has stalled due to Genoa's asking price. Gazzetto dello Sport claim Milan now want to try and use players in deals in order to keep cost down and bring Zenit to the negotiating table.
11.46 BST: Barcelona are going through somewhat of a transition at the moment and youngsters who were tipped for bright futures are being flogged to anyone who will have them. One suc hplayer was Isaac Cuenca who joined Deportivo La Coruna and now wants to be re-united with exit-bound former teammate Bojan. Speaking at a press conference he told Bojan: "Deportivo is a great team and they're in the First Division. They can offer minutes. It wasn't a hard decision. Depor is a team that plays well, has a very nice stadium and plays in front of a large crowd. I think I'll fit in well."

11.15 BST: One of those merry-go-round deals. Apparently Crystal Palace are keen on signing Tottenham's Gylfi Sigurdsson. Hull City are also close to signing Michael Dawson from Spurs. BUT neither want to leave White Hart Lane this year. This is a huge spanner in the works for Mauricio Pocchetino as, according to the Mirror, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy won't sign anybody before he ships out a few first, wanting at least £15 million for the aforementioned pair first.
11.05 BST: Pablo Hernandez looks like he could be on his way out of Swansea City after talking to Qatari club Al Arabi, who are managed by former Chelsea player Dan Petrescu. The South Wales Evening Post claims Swansea will receive a fee for the Spaniard but can expect nowhere near the £5.5 million they paid for him two years ago.
10.58 BST: Swansea City are expected to make an ambitious move for Feyenoord midfielder Jordy Clasie. If the Swans can sell Ki Sung-Yeung and recoup the £5.5 million they paid for him, Clasie is expected to become Garry Monk's number one target in midfield according to the South Wales Evening Post.
10.52 BST: Mark Hughes is desperate to bring Liverpool winger Oussama Assaidi to Stoke City according to a report in the Stoke Sentinel. Apparently he wants a genuine winger alongside the more 'part-time' option of Bojan from Barcelona, whom he is also said to be close to signing. However, the £5 million Liverpool are asking for their player is proving a stumbling block.
10.45 BST: This tweet (in Spanish, I know) caused a stir in Liverpool because it claims the Reds are thinking about making a £45 million bid for Dortmund's Marco Reus. The pandemonium had barely commenced when various bookies then slashed their odds on Reus moving to Anfield. At the moment though, would have to say, this one looks like it is slightly wide of the mark.
10.37 BST: Liverpool really are being busy bees in this transfer window. The latest reports from the Express claim the Reds want to pay Atletico Madrid winger Arda Turan's full buy-out clause. A £32 million bid would gazump the interest of Arsenal and Manchester United and is apparently the only fee Atletico are willing to negotiate at.
10.31 BST: Who would have thought Salomon Kalou would be stalling on a transfer because he is a very wanted man!? The Ivorian winger was said to be close to securing a move to Roma but the Mirror claim he is not accepting that deal until he knows if Liverpool and Everton are willing to stump up the £3 million it would take to lure him from Lille. Galatasaray have also offered him a £75,000 a week contract but Kalou is said to favour a move to the Premier League.
10.25 BST: Liverpool flop Iago Aspas is set to leave the club for Sevilla after a disappointing first season in the Premier League. 10.20 BST: Highly-sought after young Scottish full-back Andrew Robertson is on Hull city's radar after a move to West Ham was ruled out by Dundee United. 10.12 BST: More on Serge Aurier's PSG move.
10.09 BST: Newly-promoted Burnley have been strongly linked with a £1.5m move to take Lukas Jutkiewicz to Turf Moor. Reports in Lancashire suggest interest could be firmed up quickly as Burnley prepare for the new season.
10.05 BST: Conflicting reports all over Europe. Some say he wants the PSG move. Others say he is holding out for the Premier League. And now Marca say FFP is getting in the way. Who knows...
09.59 BST: Chelsea, despite signing Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa, are finding themselves frustrated in the transfer market at the moment. Their pursuit of Filipe Luis is ongoing with a transfer fee of £20 million proving the obstacle. Moves for Sami Khedira from Real Madrid and Paul Pogba from Juventus look like they won't happen either. And now Tuttosport are claiming Jose Mourinho is now going to turn his attention to PSG midfielder Javier Pastore in an attempt to bolster his squad.
09.54 BST: Ron Vlaar had an imperious World Cup for the Netherlands and reports in the Telegraph say Paul Lambert is extremely keen to tie him down to a new deal. His current contract expires next summer and Villa are concerned they may lose their captain for free if a new deal cannot be agreed.

09.41 BST: Aston Villa's transfer window looks like it is finally getting into gear as the Birmingham Mail claims they are trying to sign Swansea City's Ki Sung-Yueng. The same paper also says Paul Lambert is trying to offload Antonio Luna and Yacouba Sylla, who is close to a move to Turkey.

09.13 BST: It seems Besiktas aren't content with just the one Chelsea player. Lig TV again claim the Turkish side want to bring in forgotten winger Marko Marin, again on a one-year loan deal with a view to a permanent move.
09.08 BST: Right, let's kick off the day with the news that Demba Ba, the man who ended Liverpool's title hopes and scored THAT last minute goal against PSG in the Champions League, is apparently close to a move to Besiktas. Turkish outlet Lig TV claim the striker will join on a one-year loan deal with a view to a permanent deal at the end of the season. The Turkish club are expected to pay £3.5 million of his wages.
Liver-hampton, or is it South-verpool?
Southampton were a joy to watch in the past season's Premier League, with their high-octane, high-pressing playing style winning plenty of admirers.
One chap clearly impressed was Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers, who has been linked -- by The Daily Mail -- with his fourth Southampton purchase of the summer.
With Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert already in the bag and want-away defender Dejan Lovren appearing to be next, Rodgers has turned his attention to former Burnley star Jay Rodriguez.
Although the deal is far from locked in, there is a distinct possibility that when Liverpool line up to play their first Premier League game on Aug. 16, there will be more players in the first 11 who played in a Saints kit the past season than did in a Liverpool one.
And guess whom the Reds are playing on match day one? That's right -- Southampton. Delicious.
World Champion one day, Madridista the next!
Rumours of Toni Kroos' move from Bayern Munich to Real Madrid have been swirling for weeks, but Marca all but confirmed today that the freshly crowned World Cup winner will indeed be heading to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Describing the 24-year-old as one of the heartbeats of the German side, the paper gushes that Kroos will arrive in Madrid "in a blaze of gold."
Of course, Real already have an embarrassment of riches when it comes their midfield, so with Kroos coming in, another will almost certainly leave.
Angel di Maria has been courted by about half the clubs on the planet in the past two weeks, and it appears Paris Saint-Germain have been the club that has caught the Argentine's eye.
