Suarez finds sympathy over bite from Mike Tyson

Banned from all football for four months by FIFA and vilified by the rest of the world, Luis Suarez has found a sympathetic shoulder to bite -- sorry, cry on -- in the likely shape of former heavyweight boxer Mike Tyson.

Tyson famously gnawed on Evander Holyfield's ear not once but twice during a bout back in 1997, and the former boxer has spoken out in defence of Suarez, admitting that he understands exactly how it feels to suddenly find yourself overcome with the rabid raging impulse to bite another human being.

"Suarez's bite? I understand it. It was a blackout moment, which can happen at times," Tyson said in Corriere dello Sport.

"It was just one moment in which the competition can make the blood in your veins boil and it overpowers your rationality.

"Sometimes you become something that you are not."

This is the very same Mike Tyson who instantly started following Suarez on Twitter the very same day that the Liverpool striker infamously bit Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic on the bicep last April.

Two peas with which we have no desire to ever share a pod.
