Woman wins sweepstake after sleepwalking husband predicts 7-1 defeat
A Brazilian woman now has bragging rights over her entire office after they mercilessly mocked her for predicting that Brazil would suffer an unthinkable 7-1 thrashing at the hands of Germany on Tuesday based on a tip-off from her husband -- who, it should perhaps be noted, was asleep at the time.
Forty-four-year-old artist Anna Guerra admitted that, rather than studying the form book, she simply opted to enter the hefty scoreline in her work sweepstake after being told to do so by her sleepwalking spouse the previous night.
"He said Germany," she told the Lance! newspaper. "I asked him what the score would be and he said 7-1."
Sadly for Anna, her bold prediction didn't really pay the kind of dividends it deserved as she only recouped 200 Brazilian real (approx 55 pounds) from her 10-real (2.50 pounds) stake.
Perhaps a trip to the bookies is in order next time your husband starts spouting gibberish in his sleep, Anna?
