Stange leaves out Khairul Amri and Madhu in final Singapore squad
Veteran striker Khairul Amri, along with defender Madhu Mohana and winger Christopher Van Huizen, are the notable absentees from the Singapore national squad for two upcoming international matches.
Singapore face Myanmar in a friendly on March 24 at Jalan Besar Stadium before travelling to Tehran for their final 2018 AFC World Cup qualifying match against Afghanistan on March 29.
In Bernd Stange's final Singapore selection, 23 players were called up, with 32-year-old utility player Juma'at Jantan earning his first call-up since 2014 while Afiq Yunos, Al-Qassimy Rahman, Firdaus Kasman, Faris Ramli, Gabriel Quak and Shahdan Sulaiman made the list after missing out last time round.
Singapore aren't in position to advance to the next phase on the road to Russia 2018 but can secure a place in the Asian Cup 2019's third round qualifying round if they avoid defeat.
The Singapore U21 squad will also be travelling to Tehran to play two international friendlies against Iran on March 26 and 28.
Among the 20 players in that squad are the sons of Singapore football legend Fandi Ahmad, Home United duo Irfan and Ikhsan plus Adam Swandi, Joshua Bernard Pereira and Muhaimin Suhaimi of the Garena Young Lions.
