FIFA bans ex-Thai football federation president Worawi Makudi
Worawi Makudi, the former president of the Thai football federation, has been banned for three months by FIFA after it found he had breached an order barring him from all football-related activity for 90 days.
Makudi, who also previously served on FIFA's executive committee and was part of the group when it voted on who should host the 2018 and 2022 World Cups in December 2010, was handed a 90-day ban by FIFA's ethics committee in October last year for an alleged unspecified breach of the FIFA code of ethics.
He has now been suspended for three months by FIFA's disciplinary committee, effective from Feb. 22, after it was found Makudi had breached the terms of his original ban because he was "still involved in the affairs" of his national association during the period when the 90-day ban was in place.
Makudi has also been fined 3,000 Swiss francs (£2,130), FIFA said.
